Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Gooch is up to 70th in the rankings. He only has 80 odd points to defend between now and the French. Surely he can string some results together at one of the Masters Series events and get into the top 50 before Wimbeldon

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Another 5 points to Guccione through qualifying in Vegas. Great Aussie contingent in Vegas. Hewitt (defending chanpion), Luczak and Guccione. Interesting how they do in the tournament.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Top work Gooch and Looch...fingers crossed for a good draw. They'll either have great luck and draw Melzer or Hanescu with Canas the top seed in their quarter...or bad luck and draw Llodra or Soderling with Gonzo and Baghdadtis lurking.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Top 3 aussies in the one tournament, nice to see. Just waiting on where they are place din the draw. guccione supposedly was serving for the match and lost his serve only to get it straight back again to win the match. Nice to see mentally for him.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Couldn't have turned out better for them: Looch drew Soderling who's now withdrawn to be replaced by Zverev...and Gooch has drawn Hanescu, who he should really beat.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Canas next, who's seriously short on match practice and form. Another QF would be a huge boost going into the Masters Series events that he may also have to qualify for. This is a great chance for Gooch to make a breakthrough and face Hewitt in the semis

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

I think Chris is about 10th on the entry list at both the masters series events so he'll have to qualify.

Nice win this morning, Chris.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

A shocker from Gooch. 57% first serve percentage, only 8 aces and he let Canas have 14 break points. You can't expect to win anything playing like that. He had 8 break points himself and only managed one.

He's going to need to get that first serve higher if he's going to win against ganas. That 8 break point ones is terrible, chris needs to take those opportunities.
