Oooh. Another close loss for poor old Ball.
Won't be doing his confidence in singles much good.
Lost 46 75 67(4) to Basic in final round of qualifying at Knoxville

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.

Yeah - looks like the European experience on Indoor Hard might be the difference. Jonesie went down in a 3-setter to Heliovaara, a Finn who no doubt grew up on Indoor Courts.
Oz does not just need some clay courts - need some Indoor Hard courts as well

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.

I hadn't seen him play since the US Open two years ago, and the serve is great. The volleys were strong and deep. That seems to be where his game stops though. Really too bad there has not been much progression on his ground strokes, he has the serve and net game to be an ATP player but a 50mph forehand just is disappointing. It is weird, he was doing so well and then just stagnated. Too bad

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Hopefully he can get the win against Kudla. Would be nice to see him start to regain some form after last year's disaster.

Gooch advised Sideshow Ball not to qualify and instead pleasure the ladies on Chapel St by demonstrating numerous blocked forehand returns.

Carsten qualified for a 100k challenger in Dallas and just took out the top seed Ryan Sweeting 6-3 6-4! must be his first top 100 win in ages
