Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.

Out of the Qualifiers Carsten has drawn young Canadian Milos Raonic. Should be a good battle between two good servers but Carsten will have to lift his dramatically improve his form if he wants to win this one as Raonic is capable of playing some very good tennis.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Yes indeed Raonic can play some good tennis. I remember last year I think it was in the Montreal Masters event he beat Gonzalez and was simply on fire. Ball will have to play some good tennis to win, but it could go either way.

Montanes next who saved 3 match points in his first round match. Good chance to make his first Slam 3rd round.

Good serving display from Carsten. Hopefully he can keep it up. It would be very nice to see him make the third round. Montanes sounds like he got out of jail today against Przysiezny.

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.

Carsten went down 6-4 6-3 6-1 to Monty.

Disapointing result, thought he would at least take a set off Albert, who is tough but can be exposed on decoturf. Kind of a missed opportunity as well considering Cilic was taken out and he would have faced Nishkori for a spot in the 4th round.

I spose Ball gets ready for Davis Cup now.

Yeah pretty disappointing. Carsten seems to have his on/off days, I guess he was having an off day.

Carsten is making steady progress this year. He has won a futures tournament in the USA and featured consistently in the latter stages of these events. He has now (I think) got a place in the top 600 and will be looking to end the season with a bag. I reckon he could make top 450 by year's end

For those who haven't seen him play, he has a big serve, powerful forehand and consistent backhand. He is tall and needs to work on his movement and mental toughness
