Amazing result for the 15 year old. If he wins the event he will gain some big attention here in Oz.

Re: Another Australian Young Gun: Omar Jasika

i was watching this match on the live scores, he did well in the first set after having set point at 5-4*, then losing that game and his serve in the next to go down 6*-5. really good win

Re: Another Australian Young Gun: Omar Jasika

Omar is in the qualies draw in Halle. Probably a little out-classed there, strange decision.

Re: Another Australian Young Gun: Omar Jasika

Amazing how weak that qualies Halle field is.
How come no top 100 players (non WC) in the qualies of an ATP250 draw?

Re: Another Australian Young Gun: Omar Jasika

Jasika is through to the semi finals of the US open juniors having beaten no 3 seed in the round of 16 in straight sets Jared Donaldson the highest ranked local boy and than no 7 seed Duck Hee LEE of Korea who has given Australian juniors so much trouble in our region, taking him out 6-4 7-5. Takes on Jan Choinski in the semi finals second up on court 11 tonight.

He's also playing in the boys double final after that partnering a Japanease lad Naoki Nakagawa. Here is hoping he has a good night.

Re: Another Australian Young Gun: Omar Jasika

Hey, so I usually post on tennis forum but I thought i'd like to share this. Its good to see Omar doing well, but recently he was tagged by a Bosnian post on facebook

Bosanskohercegovački tenis (Bosnia and Herzegovina tennis)

Translation from google:
One of the biggest talents in the world of tennis players, Australian junior who a year ago in an interview FACE TV said he would like to one day play for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Omar Jasika to qualify for the semifinals in singles and doubles finals at the Junior U.S. Open. Seventeen years old Aspen is currently 33rd world junior and 789th

and the comments (translated from Bosnian)
Adel Muratovic What is the procedure of changing nationality, etc. kolko because I know it's more complicated than in football and basketball

Alen Siljak How complicated? So tennis players changing nationality as socks.

Joseph Kaplan that, Ajla had nothing to do with Austalijom and received the papers within 15 days or so, so all you can, even if she should Australians and so steal the biggest talent

I really hope he doesn't change

“It feels pretty good to be honest, winning matches and just playing for Australia,” Jasika said.
Posts on social media or forums withput direct quotes are not overly concerning. However TA with the girls game has set the tone for player theft and other countries are angry so yes we might see poaching attempts but until I know otherwise im hopeful we can shove him in a davis cup tie soon and hold onto him.
