Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

I certainly would have preferred an Aussie like Brad Mousley to be given a Wild Card into the Futures at Happy Valley, rather than some ex-collegiate All-American player. Why can't Jenkins play qualifying, or go and get a wild card to play in his own country. Give our youngsters a "fair shake of the sauce bottle".
Well done Mousley on qualifying, and he went on to win his first round, against another qualifier Adam Hubble.

i agree with you. mousley played some spanish futures last year, so i have seen him live and he looks like a decent prospect. they should give him more chances in aussie futures/challengers

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Mousley fights hard but loses a tight one in the 2nd round against American wild card Jarmere Jenkins 5-7 in the third.
May have done better if he did not have to play qualifiers, and was fresher for this encounter.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Todd Reid was been seen around in the company of Ben Rocavert, from Sydney NSW, who played in the qualifying of the F9 Futures at Himebush last October 2013. Don't know if Reid is making a come-back, I think he may have played in the ATL once or twice. Maybe check out the "Money" tournaments to see if he is playing any matches there.

Just read he is entered to play qualifying at Mildura in the ITF Futures there this week. See "Aceland Tennis"
