He's got talent there's no doubt about it. It's the attitude that's the problem.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Great week for Aussie young guns Andrew Harris and Jacob Grills in Thailand. Andrew Harris in his first tournament back from a back injury has not only qualified for the tournament, but then beaten Dekel Bar, Arata Onozawa (seeded 8) and former top 100 player Danai Udomchoke all in straight sets.

Jacob Grills has beaten Adam Feeney and 5th seed Takuto Niki both in straight sets in his last two matches and was only stopped last week by eventual champion Ben Mitchell.

Tomorrow Harris plays American Tyler Hochwalt and Jacob Grills plays 3rd seeded Indian Saketh Myneni in the Semi Finals.

Good luck boys!

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Aussies get byes in first round at Queens, where the No. 2 seed is ranked 185 and named Duckworth. They also play the 2nd round dubs on same day as first, so their opponents will be tired !!! :
Awesome for them.

(2) James Duckworth - 2nd round will play either Prakash Amritraj or Jamie Baker (both adept on the green stuff)
(3) Matt Barton - 2nd round will play either Nenad Zimonjic or Adam Thornton-Brown (a double spec or a newby)
(4) Matt Reid - 2nd round will play either Ilja Bozoljac or Cameron Norrie (Bozo can be dangerous if serving well)
(5) Sam Groth - 2nd round will play either Josh Goodall or Stefan Sterland-Markovic (Goodall should win that, Groth to beat him)
(7) JP Smith - has to play 1st round, vs James Ireland (JP should win), then plays either Rohan Bopanna or Robert Carter (Bopanna maybe, but he is a dubs spec too)

Go the Aussies at Queens qualies.
Might get one through here.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Oh dear - the Aussies did not capitalise on their seedings and bye positions at Queens, only big serving Groth getting through to the final round.
(2) James Duckworth - lost to Jamie Baker
(3) Matt Barton - lost to Nenad Zimonjic
(4) Matt Reid - lost to Ilja Bozoljac
(5) Sam Groth - beat a tired Josh Goodall in three
(7) JP Smith - bt James Ireland 1st round, but lost to Rohan Bopanna.
Not very good unfortunately.
Hope Groth qualifies, he has a good chance, up against doubles specialist Nenad Zimonjic. Go Sam
Btw, Jonesie through to final round of qualifying in Halle, also on the cow stuff. Go Greg

Sam has the potential and the ability to do well here. He needs to build on the momentum, use his big serve and not make silly shots that arent on. Fingers crossed for some success.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Draws Rosol first round with Tomic or Becker in round two. Not a bad draw.

Dayne Kelly into the semis in Turkey taking out the number 2 and 7 seeds as a qualifier. I know its a weak tournment but still good to see.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Looks like Lindahl and Ede may have been on the turps the night b4, judging by those score-lines...
