Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Yeah, nice year from Thompson so far. He's gone from unranked to 600s and before this year hadn't played anything above Futures qualifying at men's level.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Great that Jordan qualified. Hope he does well there, as he has performed at a great level so far this year.
Perhaps time for his own forum spot?

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

^^ yep go for it. after his great start to the year he definately deserves a thread. it was amazing how he won a round of quallies at the Australian Open considering how little experience he had in the seniors. he'd only played in four futures before that (plus Sydney qualifying the week before), two in Bendigo 2010 and 2011 and then two in Germany last year, and he didn't qualify for any

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Kubler through to the quarters of Italy F4 with a 6-1 6-1 win. And not a bad looking draw going forward.

Avoided Granollers-Pujol who has had the wood on him. Should make the semi or final from here.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

hoping for a Kubler-Thompson semi now! does anyone know where they are both playing next week? i can't find their names on any ITF entry lists, only in the withdrawals.

nice win by Matheson Klein over Chase Buchanan too, 4-6 6-4 6-2.

Kubler got there with a 6-1 6-4 win but Thompson fell short with a 6-2 3-6 6-3 loss.

There will be an all Aussie semi-final this week after all: Bolt v Kyrgios in China F2.
