He is currently playing the 15th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, in Malaysia. After qualifying in two pretty easy straight set matches. He is now played three matches and is through to the quarter final's in straight sets. He will next play America's Campbell Johnson.
Duckworth played in Thailand last week where he made the main draw by qualifying then made it to the third round, he also ended up winning the doubles title with Benjamin Mitchell, who did the double last week winning the singles and the doubles. These are some of his stats.

James got up in his first round 3 & 4. Next up is likely the number 4 seed which should be tough. If James can manage to go deep this week and win the title he would actually crack the top 300. Once he cracks the top 300 I think that is when he should start playing challengers. Last time he played a future in Italy he won it so it is not impossible to think he could go deep this week.
The forth seed proved to be a tough challenge but James was good enough and won 7-6(2) 4-6 6-4. Next up is the number 6 seed from Italy. Hoping James keeps this going, lots of potential for movement this week.
James playing in another Italian future this week and is the number two seed this week. Has an Italian qualifier in the first round. This tournament is a future with hospitality which offers more ranking points so if James can deep this week it will be much more beneficial for him. Hoping to see James solidify a spot in the top 300 after this week.
Duckworth, Matt Reid, qualifier Jason Kubler and Ruben Statham, from across the ditch, all advanced to the second round in the Italian Futures yesterday, with another qualifier Nima Roshan still to play.
Interesting match up in the QF in the Italian Futures, with Duckworth up against Kubler after Duckie dispatched Marc Rath and Kubler dealt with No.7 seed Matteo Marrai.
Also in the mix Matt Reid, who dispatched the No.1 seed Molteni plays Kiwi Ruben Statham, who beat the No.8 seed Fabbiano.
Go boys! May the best ANZAC win.
Duckworth d. Kubler 6-4 6-3. Solid win from James and has an unseeded Argentine in the semis. Hoping James get the win this week because he would crack the top 300 and most likely be ranked high enough to make Grand Slam qualifying cuts after this week (if he wins). Somewhere around the high 270s would be his new ranking if he did win this week. Can't find James on any entry lists for the next three weeks and one of the tournament is in Australia so it would seem he is going to start playing challengers.
Ducky fights his way into the final with a 4-6 6-4 6-3 win. Just one more match against the 5th seeded Italian. Would be monumental if James could get the win in the final. He would be ranked about 282 in the world if he won and around 295 if he loses. So either way James is now officially in the top 300!
Starting to think James will be in line for a few wildcards in the Aussie summer. Maybe a few challenger results away from an Aussie Open MD wildcard?
Nice one J.D. (I've been watching Scrubs so that's what I'm calling him at the moment), 4th Futures titles for the year! I'm going to say now that he will get an AO MD WC in 2012. The only Aussie ranked above him who is younger is Tomic plus J.D. has never played a tour level match yet (read: no main draw wild cards yet). Winning several European clay futures as a teenager deserves respect.
Duckworth takes out the title 6-2 6-3. Massive result for him and the next notch on the belt is cracking the top 250 which he is just 24 points away from. I think now is definitely the time James should try his trade on the challenger circuit. He is on the alternates list for an Italian challenger next week so don't be surprised if he happens to be in the qualifying draw for that tournament next week.
Great work. Would love to see him in a couple of the MD tounrments during the Aussie Summer. But first he just needs to translate this form onro rhw challenger circuit as Matchu said.
Nice one Ducky. I would like to see how James goes on Challenger circuit hard court before handing out MD wild cards on hard court to him, not that he doesn't deserve it. No main card for J.D. yet sounds the same as for Greg Jones. Botn NSWelshmen. Something in that?
Duckies credentials are good, but so were Jonesies at the same age - and he only ever received one ATP Main Draw singles Wild Card, into the Medibank - a NSW tournament. Hope Duckworth gets better and that Jonesie gets recognised sometime for his achievements at an early age. No opportunity can translate into no progress. Look how Tomic benefitted.
Well I am not sure how I missed it but James is going to be playing the next two weeks in Romanian futures on clay. He is the number 1 seed this week with fairly weak field for a 15k future. Hoping James puts in another good performance this week seeing as next week is a 10k future with less points on offer. The week after James is entered in a 15k+H in France so it would seem he is going to keep playing futures at least for now. Not trying to look ahead of myself but if James were to win this week he would move to around 242 in the world!
I do sort of wonder how much longer James is going to spend on the future circuit, I guess you do have to make your schedule 3 weeks in advance so you can't really blame James for continuing to enter futures. If he won one of the next three upcoming futures I would have thought that would definitely be the time to start playing challengers but based on history I wouldn't be surprised if James kept riding this train until he gets into the top 200 (he is only about 80 points away from the top 200 as it currently stands).
James got the win in the first round 5-7 7-6(4) Ret. Hopefully he can keep this going as he has another unseeded Romanian in the next round. I'd like to see another deep run from him but I can't help but think he would be very tired but now and I'd expect him to lose one of his upcoming matches.
Ducky goes down 7-6(9) 6-2 in the second round. Looks like he really fought for that first set but ran out of gas in the second. Don't be surprised if James enters the qualifying of the challenger in Como, Italy tomorrow, as he stated in a tennis australia video he will be playing a mix of challengers and futures until September.
Finally James is back playing he is top seed in the qualifying draw of the only challenger event this week in Brazil. And has a bye in the first round. Lets go James.
