Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

Without dropping a set hopfully he can get his first main draw win outside of Australia.

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

Duckworth will face off against his fellow 1992 born Kudla in round one. Kudla has won 6 of his last 7 matches (QF Queen's and Wimbledon qualification) so he will be tougher than his ranking suggests. But still a winnable match for Duckworth if he serves well.

He lost to Kudla 6-4 6-2 3-6 4-6 6-1. Such a shame after getting it back level. Back to the clay Challengers now.

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

God.he climbed back from 2 sets to love down, broke early to lead 1-0 in the fifth. At thispoint I went to bed as I assumed, wrongly, that he was home and hosed and would progressto the second round.Instead he loses 6 games on the trot. I wonder if he had expended so much energy in retrieving those two sets that he lost his energy levels and hit a wall. Such a shame!

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

Good year for JD so far, has been in three Slams this year - outstanding.

Has booked 263 pts so far this year and has 53 pts to defend.

Pass for Duckie with more to come.

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

Yeah definite pass for Ducks! To qualify on the clay and the grass shows what he could become. Two futures wins including one in South America on Clay is fantastic. Needs a strong finish to the year and could be pushing for Direct Entry into the Australian Open.

Duckworth with direct acceptance into an ATP event.

Plays Aljaz Bedene (7) in round one in Bogota.

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

Great opportunity for James.
Will be a tough match but could beat Bedene.
Go Duckie

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

James comes through against the No.7 seed Slovakian Aljaz Bedene (ATP 87)win one break in each set being enough for a 63 64 win. Duckie did not face a single break point in the match.
Up against Canadian Vasek Pospisil (ATP 89) next. Looks like Pospisil just missed out on being seeded, but another very winnable match for James.
Go the Duck...

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

The Duck goes close but acquiesces at the death, losing 57 63 57 to Vasek Pospisil.
The end of the first and third sets being the difference, as well as the serving.
Duckboy had low percentage first serves in the first and third sets, but more telling was the fact that he was unable to force Vasek to face any break-points in the match.
Better luck next time. Got to play those clutch games better Duckman.
