Re: James Lemke

Lemke through to the QF, should be favourite after Lindahl, Jones and Mitchell all dropped out or were beaten.

Re: James Lemke

And now in the semis after disposing of Leon Frost 61 60. Plays Takeuchi so should make finals.

Re: James Lemke

Into the final where he will face Chvojka. Chvojka probably the favorite but you'd think James has a fair chance. This would be his second straight future if he was to get up tomorrow, could really set him up for the rest of the year if he was able to win tomorrow and have another good showing next week in Bundaberg.

Re: James Lemke

James ended up winning convincingly 6-2 6-0. Second futures title of the year and both have been on different surfaces which is impressive. Important next week that he puts in another good showing, a win in Bundaberg would see him jump inside the top 250 and make the cut for both Wimbledon and Roland Garros qualifying so a fair bit on the line for him next week. Still a few good results away from taking that next step to the challengers but definitely headed in the right direction and nothing spurs you on more than winning a title.

James is one of the few doing well and whose ranking is going the right way. Well dome and keep the wins coming.

Re: James Lemke

James has been playing some steady ball the last couple of years.. hopefully he continues to improve this year and make the transition onto the challengers.

Re: James Lemke

Number one seed this week in a Futures in Australia takes on Aaron Leeder Chard in the first round. Would love to see a semi final match up with Ben Mitchell.

Re: James Lemke

Continues his good form with a 6-1 6-0 win in this first round. Takes on James Duckworth next so should get through.

Re: James Lemke

Another good win for James, 6-2 6-2 against Duckworth. Proppogia up next shouldn't give him too many problems but a potential semifinal against Ben Mitchell or Michael Look could definitely be a challenge. In saying that I think James will make it to the final again and take on Chvojka once again. 7 wins in a row now for James, lets hope he can keep riding the form train.

Re: James Lemke

Lemke through to the semis now with a very convincing win against Propoggia, 6-1 6-0. Very impressive for James but his semifinal against Ben Mitchell will surely be tougher than his other matches this week. Streak up to 8 now with this win. If you look at the history of these events it predicts that at least one of the finalist in the first week will make the final in the second. Brydan Klein last year won both these events in consecutive weeks last year and Greg Jones the year before was a finalist followed by a winner in the second week. So history predicts James will at least make the final this week. Hopefully he goes back to back and brings his form into Euro challengers/futures.

If James is able to win this he'll be just behind Millman and Klein in the rankings and at 23 years of age now seems like he is coming into his own. I am a little bit worried about his frame though, he is only 5'9 but then again so is David Ferrer and Tommy Robredo so it is possible. The thing I would really like to see James do is step up to the challenger level and be just as consistent ie. quaters and semis most weeks. Unfortunately I think James will be just like Millman, Klein and Jones before him and just be a first or second round casualty in the challenger after working so hard to build his ranking in the aussie futures. I would love to be proven wrong though.

EDIT: If anyone is curious James is heading to France next week for a big future tournament there and looks like he'll sneak a seeding so it could be another successful week for him but in saying that I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of the tournament due to fatigue.

Re: James Lemke

James into the final with a 6-2 2-6 6-2 win over Benny Mitchell. It is also a rematch of last weeks final with Chvojka tomorrow but after last weeks result I'm confident James will get over the line again. Streak up to 9 now. He has had a really strong start to the year and has very little points to defend in the coming months so I think he can really make a move if he continues this form overseas.
