Recorded a 64 64 win over Giovanni Lapentti in the first round. Now has a winnable second round match against Steve Johnson. Great work.

James lost 63 76 to Luczak. He played well and could have very easily won the second set where he had a setpoint (i'm not sure if he had more).

James is playing Auckland qualies again this year after successfully making the maindraw last season and has drawn 3rd seed Riba in the first round. Not a bad draw at all as you can probably count on one hand the number of hardcourt matches Riba has won in his life. Hope he can get some match play here before AO qualies.

Was hoping he might record a win over a top 100 player but not to be and it seems as though Riba did it easy in the end.
