Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Ben fights back from a break down in the first set to level the match at 5-5 and take the set to the tie-break. In a topsy turny tie-break he falls behind, then gets a break up serving at 4-3, then Jones wins both Mitchell's service point to lead 5-4 but Mitchell gets it back to 5-5, only to see Jones set up set point and then break Mitchell to win the tb 7-5 and the set 76.
Despite poor 1st serve percentages by both players in the 2nd set, no break-points until Mitchell 5-6 down, serving to save the set and match and gets broken by Jones on the only break-point of the set, to lose the set 75 and the match 76 75.
So Mitchell's poor form this year continues.
Let's hope he can start building some confidence soon.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

He has won another 15k in Korea ( his first 15k title this year) and is now playing in a absolutely woefully weak 15k in Canada . I mean really pathetically weak . How come the uk has not had a 15k and Canada has it 's first futures of the year , is a 15k and is really weak .

Novak Djokovic .

5 Australian Opens
3 Wimbledons
2 US Opens

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Ben won his first round 6-3 6-0 against a Canadian wildcard. Pretty comfortable win looking at the stats

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Has improved the second quarter of the year. Much room for improvement.

Has earned 64 pts this year, still has 86 pts to defend, 7 pts before the US Open, could make qualies draw there.

Barely a pass so far, but has a little upside b4 US Open.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

I was expecting big things from Ben this year after winning the AO wildcard playoff last year. Played well against Baghdatis in Brisbane and was unlucky to draw Ducky in Melbourne.

That being said he has done enough to protect his ranking so far and seems to be coming into some sort of form.

Fail for me but only just.
