Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Ben takes out Klein 6-2 4-6 6-2 to reach the final. He will take on number 2 seed Matt Reid in the final. Big chance for Ben to take out the title this week and will be his third final in his last four tournaments. Although in the last two finals Ben has lost. Lets hope he turns it around here and claims his third future title of the year. A win will see him jump to about 272 while a loss will see him at around 279. A win will also ensure he overtakes James Duckworth in the rankings again.

Not to look too far ahead but a win this week and another next week would see Ben jump to about 240 in the world. Very respectable year end ranking but I think Benny is capable of finishing even higher! Interesting to note that Ben is not entered in the two South Australian futures coming up in three weeks, I am hoping he will attempt to play challengers/ATPs during that time.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Hopfully he does try some Challengers unlike Duckworth who just seems to have stoped playing since he got his ranking up.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Ben wins the final 6-1 6-4 over Matt Reid. Good to see Ben take the title out as the number 1 seed. I am hoping for a follow up run in the second WA future coming up this week. Now officially in the top 300 and overtakes James Duckworth as the number two '92 born Aussie.

Well done Ben. Tiredness may be the only reason he does not repeat next week.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

if he wins he moves into thetop 270 with duckworth, the problem is we always have these 19 year olds that come through but they never seem to be able to take that extra step (outside of tomic of course)
greg jones is a good example of that im pretty sure he was 19 when he made the top 300 ,klien and milman are others

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Ben is through to the final after a 7-5 7-6(5) win in the semis. Faces Brydan Klein in the final and is a huge chance to go back to back in these WA futures. james82 has actually not included the points Ben gained from winning the tournament last week, he will actually move to about 253 with a loss in the final and to around 239 if he beats Brydan tomorrow. The points get added on a week later because it is a futures tournament. Ben played Klein in the semis last week and won 6-2 4-6 6-2 so he should be confident about another win but Brydan playing in his home state could mean any result tomorrow.

Re: Ben Mitchell's Banana Party

Would be a great result if he could win this and as Matchu said get his ranking to 239 and be pushing top 200 be seasons end. Anyone reckon he is in with a chance to get a few WC's this Summer?
