Re: Matthew Ebden
Matt ranked at 98 this morning, cracks the top 100 again and, with no points to defend for the rest of this year, should make the cut for the AO main draw.
Can't see too may other players vaulting over him, but only 60 points separates him at ATP98 (with 566 points) and Haider-Maurer at ATP113 (on 506 points). Matt may have to get another good result to ensure he remains in contention for that MD berth.
How many points do those players ranked between 99 and 113 have to defend this year:
- 9 of the list have no points to defend, Pella has 104, Gicquel 92, Ungur 85, Alejandro Gonzalez has 25, Huta Galung 22 and Kavcic 21.
Of the players ahead of him in the rankings (up to ATP82) 8 players still have points to defend, which if not defended take them back past Matt, particularly, Smyczek, Russell, Kudla, Falla and Lorenzi - so Matt is looking good compared to them - but all depends on their results for the remaining tournaments.
Way to go, well done Matt.
