Even if Matt were to spring a surprise and beat Schukin he would have to take on Joao Souza who made the semis of Santiago earlier on in the year and he wouldn't have much of a chance against the top half of his section against the likes of Gil, Haider-Maurer, Hrbaty and Klizan.

Hopefully Matt can put in a good performance but we shouldn't expect too much here.
Pretty crap draw for matt much like Marinko, dangerous players all around him. Hopefully he can cause an upset against Schukin as the confidence would be a big bonus but with Yuri's recent form i don't see that happening at all!!

Matt closed it out to record a 6-4 6-4 win. Now plays Guez which is a match Matt should probably win.

Re: Matthew Ebden

Matty got up 4-6 6-4 6-3. He now plays the number 1 seed Taylor Dent in the qualifying round. Unlucky match-up. Good luck though.

Matt lost in three sets in the first round of the LA qualies to Balleret. Close match so hopefully Matt will pull out some wins leading into the US

Re: Matthew Ebden

1st round Match up in Vancouver..........Matt versus Matosevic. Will be interesting to see the result of this one. Great opportunity for Matt if he gets through this. There will definitely be some Aussie rivalry on that court.

Re: Matthew Ebden

Finally a win again, and a pretty good one too. Hope he does well against Soeda, but it's not a good draw.

Re: Matthew Ebden

Was expecting better from matt against Soeda, thought he would out last him if it went to three sets, but not to be, Matt going down to Soeda. Matt picked to represent Australia at the Commonwealth games. Go Matty
