I guess, us couch potatoes shouldn't be judging
But he's already 18, 2 time junior champ. When Tomic just turned 16 he won a GS match, W a challenger and SF at another challenger.
I guess he could be a late developer and have Ebden like career.
You can't compare Tomic to any of our other juniors. Bernard was/is so far ahead of everyone else his age, he is probably one of three players in the last 15 years that have been so advanced in their teenage years (Nadal and Hewitt being the others). A 16 year old Tomic could probably beat the current Saville quite easily so it's just not fair to compare the two. Saville would be much more likely to follow a path of development similar to Duckworth and Mitchell.
People don't quite understand just how hard it is to transition from junior to senior level. There have been lots of world number 1 juniors that never even reach the top 200 in mens so to expect Luke to be top 300 or whatever you expect out of him at this moment is just unrealistic. He is still growing (currently 6'2) and could continue to grow for another 3 years or so. In my opinion I believe the area Luke really needs to work on is his strength, both through his core and upper body. He doesn't hit a heavy ball yet and that is so crucial in pro tennis.
