Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

Loses to Stepanek in 3. But successful qualification still means this was a great tournament for Reid.

Good experience for him. Hope he learns a lot from it and qualifies for more events. He's a good chance at US Open as well.

Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

Great experince. The fact it was his first Grand Slam and it was outside of Australia and he qualified shows how hard he works.

What do we think the rest of 2013 will hold for Matt Reid? Any predictions?

Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

Great year for Matty so far, with qualifying at Wimbi a highlight and now under ATP200 for the first time.

Has earned 130 pts to date, but still with 122 to defend, 30 before US Open cut-off, but should make qualies draw.

Some work to do but a Pass for him.

Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

I'm going pass but only just for Matt. His Wimbledon qualifying has masked a small amount of wins outside Australia. However, then again he did qualify for Wimbledon!

Has a lot to defend over the Australian Spring series, however with 2 new Challengers added this should be attainable.

Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

Oh dear, Matt loses in first round of Lexington Challenger to 19 year-old WC American Mtchell Krueger (ATP457) 46 64 57, buckling at the end.
Not a good result for Reid. I think the match was moved indoors after it rained, so that may have affected the result, changing the surface and other factors. Also very hot & humid indoors, with no A/C, so would have tested both players endurance.

Re: Matt Reid Cheering Thread

Nooo... Reidy stacks it first round again. Loses in three to 19 year-old American Dennis Novikov (ATP 485)64 26 26.
Three tournaments in row, Reid needs to turn this around.

Matt Reid had a tough match up in the first round of US Open qualifying against Andreas Beck.

Reid shows his class with a solid 76 63 over German Andreas Beck.
Takes on 30 year-old Argentinian Maximo Gonzalez (ATP248, with a high of 58 in 2009)next.
Go Matt Reid...
