John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

Johnny Millman, no he isn't going to be one of the alltime greats, and I am not starting this thread because of nationalistic reasons either.

He made sure he finished his schooling before starting to play on the tour, which is a good thing and he is a good guy with a very positive attitude.

Played well this week by making the semis of the Burnie Challenger losing to Klein, who won the title. After a few days at home, he is going to Spain and playing Futures events on the clay, which is a surface that he enjoys playing on. It will help the development of his game and also he can use his fitness.

He has won a Futures title and made a final in a Romanian futures as a qualifier.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

He is a good kid, big soccer fan and quite skillful at it as well, he will keep progressing up the ranks this season, as long as he stays fit.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Yeah he has a good game.

Doubt he will ever be much more than top 200, but it has been good to see him progressing quickly up the rankings and results great to see as he is a 'good bloke'

Millman is into the semis of an Italian Futures Tournament.

Along the way he has defeated the fourth seed Cervanak in 3 sets and both Grilli and Olaso in straight sets.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

Millman unfortunately lost in the final of a Bulgarian Futures tournament. A tad disappointing considering that he was number 1 seed and he had come so far but nonetheless still a good effort. Hopefully he can keep racking up the ranking points. Has hardly anything to defend until mid july. Good opportunity for him to rise up the rankings.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Millman back playing the Italian futures this week with a 15k clay tournament. Is into the QF after defeating the eighth seed in straight sets. Now plays the third seed, Alberto Brizzi which should be a tough match.
