Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

He has had significant shoulder problems, so need to get right before he can step on the match court.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

That is such sad news for John. Competing on the Pro-circuit is tough enough without injury. And it is not just the recovery from injury but the fact that you have to get back to peak fitness again, get into match mode, regain the confidence level you were at orior to injury - a tough road.
Hope he recovers and is back competing very soon.

Classy act to forgo what would have been a big payday for him. We all know some players would have started the game and then withdrawn. Shows his character. I'm sure he will get back better than ever.

On twitter he confirmed he was out of Brisbane for next year. At least 6-10 months out of the game. So sad.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

hopefully he keeps at it after he's over his injury. interesting blog though:

"There was a chance that if I gave up my wild card that a player, who had said some extremely hurtful things by email about me and my ability as a tennis player when he found out I got the original wild card, might get the nod... I would get no money, no chance to fulfil a lifelong dream by playing main draw of the French Open. Tough decision. I pulled out. The wild card luckily went to Nick Kyrgios who has always been respectful to me."

i wonder who that player is?

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

yeah, very interesting blog as always. i love the fact that johny is always so honest and speaks exactly what he is thinking about...

he is a nice person, no wonder he would act properly as he did, with the wc at french open. and about who said that i think this is not the place to talk about this, i mean, if john didnt make it public, lets respect him

i really hope he doesnt retire. it would be really really sad to me...

I think we all know who this person is and I agree that it is probably disrepectful (to John) to be discussing the matter here. hopefully his rehab is going well and we will see him back with a strong shoulder before too long.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

John will be back next week playing Chengdu Futures.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
