7th seed for a 35k Carpet Challenger in Tokyo and he began by defeating Andrea Arnaboldi 6-4 7-5 in the first round. Next up will be the winner of Obry vs Amritraj. Also worth noting that John is the only seed in his quarter now after Rajeev Ram was defeated by a Japanese Qualifier.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

This is a massive chance for John to make sure he makes the AO qualie list since he is not going to play the wildcard playoff.

He is taking some time off, then having a proper pre season to prepare for the Aussie summer.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

That's not the reason he isn't playing.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

After Toyota he is going to rest and then have a proper pre season of training so he will be prepared for the Aussie summer. He has had his injury issues and wants to be ready for the qualies.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

John got up 6-1 3-6 6-1

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Good work John.
He has a good chance of advancing to semis, up against Basic.

6-3 6-3 over Basic and now plays Przysiezny in the semis.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Good win. Next one will be tough. Love to see him win this then see if TA will turn him down for a WC.
