Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

Lost 2-6 6-0 2-6. Looked promising after the bagel in the second set but Flock managed to halt all momentum by getting the early break in the third and then despite Johnny breaking back, Flock ran away with the match after breaking again. John is the 7th alt for the Monza Challenger next week and way down the alt list for Casablanca.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Shame about the loss (Ladies tennis score-line). Looks like John may have to grind through qualies next week.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

Flock of seagulls is a very aggressive player who loves to ballbash, so this scoreline can happen.

The hardcourt change wasn't the best, but can see why he wanted not to be the lone clay ranger.

Time to get on the proper clay and work through this patch.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

The Mailman delivers, just sneaking through, coming from a set down against Austrian Ager, to win the 2nd set tie-break 8-6, and then steal the match 7-3 in the 3rd set tie-break.
John's reward is a 2nd round match up against Wild Card Italian Crepaldi.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

As expected the Mailman advances, beating Crepaldi 61 61. On the way to the final? Plays No.7 seed, 20 year-old German Jan-Lennard Struff next.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread

Johnny needs the matches would be great if he made the final and played Koellerer.

Retired at 3-2 in his first round in the Italian Claycourt future in Padova. Does anyone have any info about the retirement?
