Re: The Mighty MM

Normally a run to the final would earn a wild card if you are in qualifying for a tournament the following week, but with Indian Wells starting later in the week than most tournaments I guess they do not need to allow for such things. Pity.

Did you see what Dudi Sela said?

Quote:
Nothing. He played solid, and I gave him the important points. I felt I played much better than him, and I'm losing. It's a bad feeling.
Pressed.

Re: The Mighty MM

A see-sawing final.
Big Kev breaks MMM first up, then serves at 30% to give the break back, but MMM can't hold. Five breaks in the first five games has Kevin leading 3-2. Then he holds for 4-2 and both players then hold serve and big Kev serves for the set at 5-4. MMM can't break and it is first set to Anderson 6-4.

Com'n MMM - you can do this. A better second set to follow...

MMM saves 7 break points in getting to 5-4 up, on serve, in the 2nd. Big Kev holding ok, no BP's yet.
Com'n MMM...

Up and down Marinko. Saves BP to get to deuce, has advantage game point, double faults, then serves 2nd serve ace, and holds for 6-5.
Kev holds to take it to the tie-break.
Com'n MMM...

Marinko struggles on serve and does not win a serve point as Anderson goes to 6-1 lead in tie-break.
Big Kev triumphs 7-2 in tie-break.
A huge battle by Marinko, well done on your effort this week. Some gutsy wins and a great will to win attitude.
He will go close to his high ranking after this effort.

Re: The Mighty MM

Some more upside for Marinko as he qualifies for the Main Draw at Indian Wells, competently disposing of Michael Yani 62 62. Still keep that good form going, hope he has a favourable draw for the main event.

Re: The Mighty MM

Marinko drew Ruben Bemelmens in the first round who also had to qualify. The winners sets up a match with Juan Martin Del Potro.

Re: The Mighty MM

As long as he doesn't get hammered like 2&2 it's already another great week

Re: The Mighty MM

Didn't get hammered. played some excellent tennis but could not maintain the intensity, losing a tight first set, in which he had bp opportunities, 75. Could not match Del Potro's power in the second, saving a few bp's before going down 6-2.
Well done at Indian Wells Marinko, keep the good streak going mate...

Re: The Mighty MM

Marinko performed pretty well especially in the 1st set he played his best and DelPo had a lot of problems to hold his serve and win the 1st set... in the 2nd set MM lost his energy and couldn΄t do more... I think he can be satisfied with the way he played and wasn΄t steamrolled which is good... it looks as if that challenger win at home in Australia has started his lifetime form... hopefully he can keep it going and gain some more points in Miami as well...
