Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

Argh. I don't like his schedule. It's a little lite if you ask me.

Newport is a strong field, and I can understand playing the Olympics, but I don't expect much progress this summer.

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

saved 0-30 in his opening srvice, let 2 break points slip away on becker's service and now finds himself 0-40 down

15-40

30-40

broken

3-1 becker

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

well this was never going to be easy anyway, becker on grass is a tough challengre, its his best surface. Im pissed because there are qualifiers he could have beaten but he got stuck with the hardest one

on the other hand, yes i agree he only appears to be playing well at the slams. Thats good because you should be raising your game for the slams but its also bad because he needs to be able to perform well at these smaller events to become a consistant atp player

did well at chennai but thats it

hopefully he starts translating his grand slam form into these small events

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

I really prefer it this way than the other way around ^^

But I sense it's pretty rare to perform better at slams in the beginning of your career than at smaller atp tournaments, right? Especially since he hadn't ever played to 5 sets before RG this year if I'm not mistaken? Quite a phenomenon...

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

but if he cant perform well in other events what hope does he have of ever achieving anything on tour?

its frustrating to watch really

he's got to pick it up at events like this and win matches. Yes becker on grass is tough but he really could have won this match

where's he going next?
