Re: Jan Michael Gambill

Probably Adelaide, if he can get in, then Auckland. He's not sure yet. By the way, I have a new photo of him on my messageboard, he sent it to me himself.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

He's on the big island. I think he's been to most of the others, but I can't remember. He sure looks relaxed in that photo.

Thank you Sophie. I'm guessing his best friend took the photo, but it could have been anyone who was with them that day.

Re: Jan Michael Gambill

I think JMG should have his own forum like the other players.

He is popular on this forum as they are...

Instead of being confined to this corner...

get rid of the sampras thread and rename it JMG! Pete has retired and people who support him should move on...

Re: Jan Michael Gambill

yeah, he is popular, but there aren't that many people that write in here, like every day. and, there's only this one thread, when the other players usually have a lot of threads (picture threads, etc.). if we got more active and made a JMG picture thread, and "cheering for JMG in _____ tournament" threads, then maybe we can get one. it would be exciting!

unfortunately 1 thread of less than 5 pages is not going to be enough for him to get his own forum, maybe if his form picks up again next year we'll be able to campaign for one, but at the moment we don't even keep this going so much yet

btw you're buttons are coming! i'll work on them tomorrow after work okay

Re: Jan Michael Gambill

I don't think he needs his own forum yet, not at this rate. There just isn't that much activity and he doesn't have that many fans here. It took ages to get this thread to five pages and I think most of the posts are from the same 3 or 4 people. Perhaps when he starts winning his matches and moving up the rankings again next season he will get more fans (I am the eternal optimist).

Re: Jan Michael Gambill

There was only one article about it, and according to that article he lost an 8 game set (I believe they used Team Tennis type scoring). He must not have been that enthused his play or something because he didn't seem to want to talk about it with me (and he was much more enthused about heading off to Hawaii).

Don't think JMG wants to have any more fans like me Seriously, I try to be as positive and supportive of him as I can, but there are times I just want to shake him. This past season was a little bit rough, but you got love him because he never made excuses, he just worked harder and kept plugging away. Remind me when you go to Indy and I'll tell him to keep an eye out for you. You have a PM...

thanks, email them to me. you can get my email from janmike.org.

I still think he should have his own forum. If we post on here enough maybe somebody will listen...
