Disappointing US Open for Jack if he doesn't at-least win two matches here.

Into the singles finals in If Stockholm Open his second ATP Final, plays Tomáš Berdych for the title, apart me wish he woulda had Marcos Baghdatis due to the fact I think he could beat Marcos Baghdatis much easier, but he did push Tomas Berdych to three sets an week or two ago and he need to get better at beating these top guys.

Road to the final

Stockholm Open

R1: (7) Jack Sock d. Pablo Carreño 6-3 6-7(1) 6-3
R2: (7) Jack Sock d. Fernando Verdasco 7-6(5) 6-7(5) 6-4
QF: (7) Jack Sock d. (3) Gilles Simon 7-5 7-6(5)
SF: (7) Jack Sock d. (2) Richard Gasquet 6-4 6-2
F: (7) Jack Sock vs (1) Tomáš Berdych

Team USA

J. Isner | J. Sock | D.Y. | R. Harrison | C. Harrison | D. Kudla | S. Querrey | S. Johnson | R. Williams

J. Donaldson | N. Rubin | S. Kozlov | B. Kozlov | F. Tiafoe | M. Mmoh | T. Harry Fritz | A. Fenty

RU that was a great week for Jack, making the finals. It's annoying though, that he couldn't close out the first set against Berdych after serving for it at 5-4... looks like he mentally went away after that.

In any case, Jack is putting himself in great position for 2016 as he surges to number 29 in the rankings.

I think his tournament ends this week against Isner but I hope he proves me wrong.

Re: Jack Hard Court Season Cheering Thread 2015 (from USO onwards)

Great win for Jack today, didn't see that one coming. Clearly the doubles has helped his returning (that or practicing against big John)... he got lots of balls in play and came up with the big shots at the end of both sets when he needed.

OH and probably best of all, he didn't get all pissed and bitchy when we few things didn't go his way. He's really starting to compete better. Next up is D.Young and the two have never played a tour level match, should be interesting.

He did it. Beat Young in 3 sets and is now ranked #24 or #25 in the world.

Americans, Canadians, Brits, Del Potro, Nishikori, Tsonga, Monfils, Karlovic, journeymen, underdogs, mugs, pushers, servebots, forehandbots, and whomever else I feel like rooting for (on any given day it might be Federer, Nadal or Djokovic since they are all awesome)

"It’s not just the athletic artistry that compels interest in tennis at the professional level. It’s also what this level requires -- what it’s taken for the one-hundredth-ranked player in the world to get there, what it takes to stay, what it would take to rise even higher against other men who’ve paid the same price number one hundred have paid." -- David Foster Wallace

He said during that Young match he was spent... so no surprise on the early round exit in France. No25 in the world means he should be seeded at the Aussie.

2016 looking to be a big year for Jack.
