Re: Jack Sock

He somehow got a direct entry into Stockholm, amazing considering he is ranked 97, but very fortunate since he can't qualify to save his life.

Plays Tomic round one, very interesting match.

Re: Jack Sock

Won 6-4 6-2.

Plays Ferrer next, a good test for him, winnable if he brings his A game.

Re: Jack Sock

Same old story for Jack. He comes out firing, but can't keep up that level throughout a match.

Re: Jack Sock

And yet another qualifying loss.

Basel qualifying R2 - T Kamke d Jack Sock 6-0 6-4

A bagel in Basel, well at least it has a nice ring to it.

Seriously though, his qualifying record is atrocious beyond belief, I believe he has successfully qualified once in something like 15-20 tries. And of course that came at RG which you'd think would be the toughest place of all for him to qualify. And he breezed through it too, so go figure. I have given up on trying to figure him out.

I so badly want to be a jack sock fan but losses like this make it hard. He clearly has the equipment as evidenced by his success at majors. ( relative success). But he doesn't seem to have the mental strength or discipline to do it week in and week out. As shame

Patience, young Padawan!

The days of younger players having success on the tour are over. There isn't even one teenager in the top 150.

But yes, Jack Sock will have to improve a lot in those areas if he wants to make it.

Re: Jack Sock

He is playing the Champaign challenger and barely squeaked by B Fratangelo in round 1, 6-2 4-6 7-6 (8-6)

Hopefully better things to come.
