Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

Woops, I just saw you posted this in the Robby news thread...but I thought it was a good story. I want Robby to play well, I like watching him play. He was playing the best tennis of his life last summer and he really carried that AUSopen but, he lost it against Gremlin and he hasn't been the same. I mean, that match he played against Federer at Cinncy, the match against Nadal in Madrid. He really should have beaten Agassi at the USO. I wish that he won one of those matches and took that step to being a top player like Blake did. I think he still can he just needs some more oppertunites, he's certainly not lacking the talent. Please play well this summer Robby!!!

Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

This has to be Robby's most impressive win in quite a while! He overcame his nerves, dropping the first set, his ue/winners ratio , extreme heat, and a bad line call that was overturned thanks to instant replay; not to mention his horrendous history of crashing out in the first round that's been going on all year long. Hopefully this will turn things around for him now.

And this.

Tennis studs: Women admire their, uh, game

During his off day Wednesday afternoon, Robby Ginepri sat in a sweaty tent and signed memorabilia for dozens of fans.

Ginepri estimated he signed about 300 autographs during last year's RCA Championships. Many autographs went to women who commented about Ginepri's good looks.

When asked if such interactions would make a girlfriend or significant other jealous, Ginepri snickered and said, "It's just business."

It's business as usual on the men's tour. Andy Roddick routinely draws similar crowds. The ATP Tour has nicknamed Tommy Haas "The Stud."

James Blake, named one of People magazine's sexiest athletes, was asked earlier in the week how big his female following is.

"Not big enough," he said.
Some piccies. Love the head dunk.

YAY ROBBY!!!

Was that a brain freeze at the end of the 2nd set?... did his head stay in the ice cooler too long this time? ... Well, it thawed out in the 3rd set, and he pulled off another win!!

He'll play the blogger, Paradorn Srichaphan, next!... He beat him last year in 47 minutes!... but this year seems to be a whole 'notha story So I hope for the best tomorrow!!

GO ROBBY!!!

Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

YAY!!! And we'll likely get to see Robby on TV tomorrow!! Good for Robby getting to the semis!!! I can honestly say, I expected something bad to happen again, or for him to get close to winning, but still lose (like most of his losses have been this year)...

I hope for a good match tomorrow!! I doubt Robby expected to defend his title this year after what he's been through... So I'm sure he'll take a SF spot! At least he got to the semis for the first time since Madrid!... he needed to get to the semis of a tournament this year to gain some more confidence in himself, and I'm glad he did!

Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

Well done. Obviously, the secret is for me to make a snarky thread title, which pisses Robby off and motivates him to make me look bad. Yeah, that's it exactly.

Should be a good match tomorrow. Better be a good match, for both of their sakes.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

who will expose their Under Armour underwear the most??
Since Robby and Andy's match is scheduled during the NBC coverage, I think we'll get to see the majority of the match! I hope both are feeling good and ready to go at it!

Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

Well done Robby! This is his first semifinal of the year and it would be soo great if he beats Andy, but this will be very hard to do. Anyways, semifinals is already a great result and a good start into the US Open series.

Re: Robby: Hard head on the hard courts for the US Open series

The LA draw is out, but let's not talk about it here until Robby has finished playing his matches in Indy. I'm feeling a bit superstitious at the moment...

the commentators on NBC just said that Robby doesn't have a coach with him this week... Robby's doing well on his own this time
