Grass, part 2. s'Hertogenboesch, Wimbledon, and not Newport.

Go Robby, good luck against Fabrice!

He is going to play in s'Hertogenboesch (who decided to stop using the easier name, Rosmalen, for this tournament) and his first opponent is Fabrice Santoro, probably on Tuesday since he's not on Monday's schedule. He is not in the Doubles draw.

Good luck Robby, win a match for me, make me wrong again. (It's tough love, really).

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Good luck Robby.

This new thread should be named 'ROBBY FOR 2006 WIMBLEDON CHAMPION' for obvious reasons....but whatever.

Re: Robby is STILL on grass (this time in the Netherlands...)

Word. Fabrice is almost always some type of challenge, no matter who the player is. Even the mighty Fed once said so. I can imagine the 2 dozen ways he can get in Robby's head and that is even more dangerous. I know Robby has the talent to beat Fabrice, he just has to have some patience and trust his skills to get him past Fabrice.

hahhaa I'm just kidding. Certain people were not pleased the last time there was a thread proclaiming that Robby would win a Slam. |:

Re: Robby is STILL on grass (this time in the Netherlands...)

Robby retired against Santoro down 1-6 2-3. that is AWFUL. I hope it was just precautionary with Wimby so close and nothing serious

Re: Robby is STILL on grass (this time in the Netherlands...)

Fergie said on GM it was a respiratory problem. Maybe his grass allergies acted up or something? Anyway, that's preferable to some actual injury that could've put Wimby in doubt. So hopefully with close to a week, he'll be fine

Re: Robby is STILL on grass (this time in the Netherlands...)

I remember reading/hearing a couple years ago that he's allergic to grass. it's a pretty common allergy. my dad had to stop mowing the grass when I was little because of it, had to pay someone to come do it b/c it made him sneeze so much

I don't know that that's what caused Robby to have the respiratory problems today, I'm just guessing. Regardless, it's better than spraining his ankle or something.

awww Robby. But you're right Deb, it's better to have something like that compared to a long lasting injury.
