Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Nick gets a MD wildcard into Memphis starting next week, he may potentially have one for Acapulco also. Let's hope for a good run.

Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get back up.

First round against Tim Smyczek and either Russell or Przysiezny in the second round. Possible QF matchup with Hewitt. Good luck Nick.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Nick capitalises on the first set sneak win and breaks Smyczek in first game of second set, now 3-1 up with a bp...
Go Nick.
Smyczek saves, so 3-2 to Nick
Smyczek breaks, levels at 3-3, now 4-4
Smyczek holds to love, leads 5-4

Uh-oh - this time pressure tells on Nick and Smyczek breaks to pouch 2nd set 6-4
C'mon Nick

Smyczek capitalises on the second set win and holds, then breaks Nick, and holds again to lead 3-0 in third set
Now 3-1, Nick needs to pick up and break...
But Smyczek holds, then has Nick facing 15-40... breaks to lead 5-3.
Last roll of the dice for Nick as Smyczek serves for the match.

30-15, 40-15 MP, Nick is done. Smyczek wins 67(5) 64 63.
Nick looked in control, then faded towards the end.

Tomic, Matosevic, Groth, Jones, JP Smith, Matty Reid, Barton, Duckworth, Whittington, Kubler, Kyrgios, Bolt, Kokkinakis, Polansky and James Ward
Go Aussie

Bad luck Nick. From all reports it was a pretty ugly match.

Nicholas Kyrgios ‏@NickKyrgios
Tough one today, I have pinched a nerve in my arm so couldn't serve full out but all credit to Tim he played a good match & was solid.

There was no way I was going to pull out after being given a WC, I took to the court & was ready to fight & I did, Tim was too good today.

Thanks for all the messages of support, it's appreciated. I'll get my arm worked on and I'll be okay for next week I'm sure.

It is with disappointment that I am announcing that I am unable to play in Delray Beach next week or Acapulco the following week due to an elbow injury sustained in the lead up to the Memphis ATP250 event.

Although I was only at 60% in Memphis I thought I would be able to get through a round or two and then be able to get some treatment ahead of Delray Beach where I was hoping for a wild card, but the main focus was to be ready for the ATP 500 event in Acapulco where I was due to play the main draw, thanks to a wild card from Raul and his team.

I am massively disappointed to have to cut short this trip but I have to make sure I am doing everything to benefit me in the long term and right now, playing with an injury is not going to do that. I am heading back to Melbourne for treatment and to get this elbow injury sorted once and for all. I would like to thank Peter and his team in Memphis for granting me a wild card there as well as Raul and his team in Acapulco, I am genuinely gutted I won’t be able to take my place in the draw but I plan on being there in 2015.

Thanks again for all the support, I will keep you all posted on my blog and I hope to be back out and competing sooner rather than later.

He's done well to complete every match of his professional career despite several injuries. Missing all these events (including Brisbane), must be really tough but, as I've said before, getting his body in tiptop condition should be his number one priority for now.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

TA really needs to reign in his schedule. too many matches - should not have played the DC - can't play at this level when carrying an injury.

Tomic, Matosevic, Groth, Jones, JP Smith, Matty Reid, Barton, Duckworth, Whittington, Kubler, Kyrgios, Bolt, Kokkinakis, Polansky and James Ward
Go Aussie

Don't think his schedule is run by TA, he's a grown man and has a team behind him, they'll try and make the best decisions obivously.

And it's not necessarily his schedule, it's playing while injured is the big concern, be 100% fit when you take to the court.
