Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Nicks elbow was giving him a lot of grief again. That should have been pretty obvious if you guys looked at the stats... No aces and only like 50 percent of points won on the first serve. He said he was struggling to even roll the second serve in without pain. May be skipping tiburon and Stockholm because of it - I'll keep you updated

Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get back up.

Yeah just from overplaying, because he is still growing - growth plates haven't fused so when under a lot of stress he gets inflammation and pain. I guess from US straight into training with the davis cup team and then davis cup may have worn him out a little. But he will be fine, just got to give it a little time to rest up.

He'll go the whole year without playing a single ATP event (only Grand Slams and Davis Cup). But the main thing is that he's better, rested and ready for the Australian summer.

Re ranking: a year ago he was ranked 1304!

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Glad to see he must have improved as he's scheduled on 4th on court 11 at the Melbourne Challenger today. He will play qualifier Blake Mott.

He should have started in 10 minutes, but it's raining so will take more time....

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Kyrgios is the only player (besides his opponent, Mott) still stuck in round one. If he were to win this title, he would have to win 5 matches in 4 days, including 2 tomorrow.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

MELBOURNE PARK

Nick shows the pressure of playing against lower ranked, free-hitting contemporaries and goes down, not without a fight, to Blake Mott (ATP820) with a 36 75 scoreline.
Or is he still injured ?

Kyrgios served at a low 53%, only winning 33% (5 of 15) 1st serves in the 1st set and dropped serve 4 times. The second set was better 88%, winning 63% but dropped serve twice.
