Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Nice win. Plays Klahn next who beat Mitchell 7-6(6) 6-4.

Kyrgios lost to Klahn 6-3 6-2 in Australian Open qualifying earlier this year and now Klahn has the home country advantage. Obviously Kyrgios's results have improved out of sight since then, but Klahn has been playing great since July (3 Challenger finals including a title, plus a main draw win at the US Open).

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Kyrgios receives a warning after getting broken in his first service for skying a ball. In the next game he bounces a racquet off the court but doesn't receive a code violation.

He really seems to be a bit of a hothead

His elbow seems to be bothering him, hope he doesn't have to skip Stockholm.

Yeah, that's not new - nick is a vocal emotional player.

He is also a crazy competitor who will never stop fighting. He also has a pretty decent tiebreak record. Nick through to the semis beating klahn 76(5) 26 7-6(4)

Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get back up.

Great result. looks like it is Smyczek next. Big chance here to make the finals. Nick has the game to beat Tim. Go Nick

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Smyczek is top 100, losing in five sets in the 3rd round of the US Open this year. This could be very tough.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

I had no idea that Kyrgios was up 7-6(5) 5-2 against Klahn. He did so well to keep composed after letting that lead slip.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

How was he up 5-2 in the second set when he lost it 2-6?

this
i guess he was 5-2 up and choked it but won in the tiebreak, maybe he was referring to third set instead of the second

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Nick shellacked by Tim Smyczek, going down 36 16.
Nick was 1-3 down first set, got the break back to get to 34, then DF'd at 30-40 to give back the break. Then only won 1 game out of 8 games to lose the match.
