Re: Jb 2012

Exhibition match in Mamphis
James BLAKE/Sam QUERREY vs John MCENROE/Jack SOCK

I think that Raonic was supposed to play there, but he probably resigned after reaching San Jose final.

Re: Jb 2012

James lost 6-0 6-2. Injury or rust? I'm hoping for the latter .

Re: Jb 2012

However, it shall be mentioned that James lost a few matches in a similar fashion in his career, e.g. vs Nieminen 0-6,2-6 (Stockholm 2010), Istomin 3-6,0-6 (Cincinnati 2010), Spadea (San Jose 2005). Maybe, it was simply a very bad day at the office or he played conservatively to check his state of health.

Re: Jb 2012

That's painful. However, we must remember that he played his last match on tour almost 4 months ago. That's a long period of time. James now is supposed to play in Delray Beach, Indian Wells and Miami. I hope he will do better there.

Re: Jb 2012

James has entered the Dallas-2 challenger for the week of March 12 (second week of Indian Wells). This is a new tournament to replace the old Sunrise challenger.

Strange - according to Memphis Daily News, James said he had no knee problems and was only rusty ...

unfortunately there's more rehab to be done with the knee. not going to play Delray. hopefully Indian Wells will be a go.
James' fb.
I hope he will recover and play 3 or 4 more years. I can't imagine following the tour without him playing
