Re: James in 2011

Well, James is a break ahead in the third but it started raining so they might finish tomorrow.

RAFAEL NADAL and GRIGOR DIMITROV

Rafa winning at least one slam in 10 consecutive years is the best achievement in Open Era tennis since Laver won all 4 Grand slam tournaments in the same year!

Re: James in 2011

Atlanta R1: James def. Gulbis 5-7 7-6(5) 6-2.
This was a nutty match.
James wasn't serving well and seemed to go down in quite a number of his service games. He was down 4-5 0-30 in the 2nd with Gulbis serving for the match and broke him. He was down 0-4 in the TB and won that. He was even down 0-40 when serving for the match on the last game and saved 5 break points. He saved 17/20 break points!

James Blake - professional escape artist.

I wish I hadn't gone to bed and waited until the rain delay ended, anyway, very happy

Watching James in a dog fight against Isner! I believe he can pull this off! Go James!

Tough loss. James played well and probably deserved to win. Hope he can continue to improve.

Re: James in 2011

Hey guys, I was absent for a while. James is doing really well, he crushed Top 100 again and seems to play on a good level. I hope he'll achieve even more during US hard court part of the season.

Re: James in 2011

Los Angeles MD is out. James is playing Berrer in 1st round. Second seeded Del Potro is waiting for the winner of this match Hope James will win and then he and Juan will show some great tennis as they did in AO.

Besides, Isner has reached final in Atlanta.

Re: James in 2011

James is also playing doubles in LA!
His partner is Sweeting and they drew Berrer/Haas in R1 (Berrer again! ).

Re: James in 2011

They play doubles today, and James plays his singles match tomorrow. He should learn a bit more about Berrer's tennis today and use it later

Re: James in 2011

LA R1: James def. Berrer 6-2 6-3 in 62 minutes.
James was down a break early in the 1st but broke back at 1-2 and did not lose serve again. He was 4/4 on break points won. He looked like his usual self -- hitting BIG winners mixed with patches of errors. He also said in the post-match interview that health-wise, he feels good.

R2 against Del Potro is the last match on Wednesday night.

Even though JB lost, it sure was nice to see him back on a tennis court
