Monfils is going to be a tough match. James leads their H2H 2-1, but they've never played on hard court (which is surprising) and the last time they met was at the 2007 Rome Masters - that's ages ago in tennis years. Monfils was on court longer than James in his singles matches this week against Dent and Serra (4 of the 6 sets were TB's), so it's not like he's been demolishing his opponents. Monfils is also faster on court than James, so this match could be real interesting. To bad I won't be able to see it.

James & Andy beat Melo & Soares in their QF double match yesterday.

So I see James lost against Monfils in 3. Not surprising, but at least he fought hard. He's still alive in doubles though. He & Andy will face Chardy/Gicquel on Saturday.

James played some matches so far, it's good for him before AO... I hope he will repeat last year result, at least!;D and of course good luck for him and Andy in doubles SF

James & Andy lost the doubles SF - 4-6 6-3 11-13.
I was watching the livescore (how fun! ). Their 2 DF's and 0/4 on 2nd serve points in the super-TB did them in.

Re: James in 2010: Australian Open campaign.

A good start to his season in Brisbane. To begin the season with some wins was very important. Singles and doubles, he did good. It's good he seems to have gotten over all the annoying injuries he had last year, and looks fit and healthy. I'll be supporting James 100%, good luck to him at the AO.

Re: James in 2010: Australian Open campaign.

The AO draw is out - James' section of draw.

The good news - he faces Clement in R1 (7-0 H2H) **Clement made the Auckland final this week**

The bad news - he will face Del Potro in R2.

James is defending 4th round ranking points, so his ranking will be heading south again...

Fourth round isn't THAT many points. Let's just see what happens. I don't think a well-playing James beating Del Potro is that hard to imagine.

Draw is really hard, but we all know, that for James his own condition is always more important then who is on the other side of the court

Poor draw. It's disappointing. I guess we can count on that James will test JMDP.

Re: James in 2010: Australian Open campaign.

The Men's Doubles draw is out.
James & Mardy teamed up (James filling in for the injured Mark Knowles) and are the #16 seed. They face Marc Lopez & Santiago Ventura in the 1st Round. If they play well, they will likely face the Bryans in the 3rd Round.

Day 1 OOP - James is last on Court 6 not before 5pm (which is 1am ET). Court 6 is one of the six courts listed for the AO official site online stream, so it must have a camera for TV.

I hope James gets to play on Laver at some stage (probably R2). It'll be the only way I can see him.
