Mowing down the competition in Halle (Grass court season)

James will be playing Sam Querrey first round. It sucks that two of my favorite players have to play first round, but I'll definitely be rooting for Blake. James and Michael Russell are also in the doubles draw. .

James beat Querrey and Korolev. Kohlschreiber awaits in the quarterfinals.

Tough match for James but if he continues to serve the way he did against Korolev he will be fine.

Re: Mowing down the competition in Halle (Grass court season)

Blake lost 6-4 6-3 to Kohlschreiber.
James was pretty upset with himself and the officials who forced him to play on towards the end when the court was slippery.
Just heard his press conference and I get the feeling he may not return to Halle. Can't say I blame him.

Re: Mowing down the competition in Halle (Grass court season)

OK, this is where James´ season has to get going. He plays Andreev on court 2 tomorrow. A loss would be devastating. Anything less than a fourth round would be a failure.

So Good luck JAMES

Re: Mowing down the competition in Halle (Grass court season)

I was just looking up what Andreev has done on grass in the past. Unless I'm wrong, he beat Agassi (then number 9) in 2004 at Queens and made it to the quarters and lost to Roddick 3rd round at Wimbledon in 2005. I guess he is a dangerous floater on grass as well then...?

James needs to win this match. Badly.

Re: Mowing down the competition in Halle (Grass court season)

I wouldn't say so, but he has a game that is decent for grass - big shots, etc. But he plays with a lot of spin and I think james should be able to beat him on grass. But James doesn't always do what he should do soooo....

Okay, good. Well James should be able to beat most people. It's not about what he should or shouldn't do...
