Cool Melbourne Cup

I have taken the following, all fixed odds from centrebet:

To win:

Railings - 6.50 (medium)
Eye Popper - $7.50
Diva - $4.00 (more for sentimental reasons then anything else)

To Place:

Railings - $2.40 (big stakes)
Eye Popper - $2.70
Xcellent - $5.00

good luck for Tuesday

Re: Melbourne Cup

The Diva will get burned IMO. The forecast is for more warmer weather and despite any watering today, the track will be drier than a nun's nasty. I'd probably back the field if anyone offered it, but I will probably just get blind drunk and enjoy the day.

Re: Melbourne Cup

I have backed Leica Falcon as my main horse

I have also had a little wager on Bazelle, Lachlan River and Greys Inn at big odds (I had a dream last week that a horse called 'Our Grey Mill' won, and since this horse doesn't exist, Greys Inn is the closest I can get).

Like most of Australia though, I would be ecstatic if Makybe could pull it off again and create more history!

Re: Melbourne Cup

Strassborg has claims for a place.

I'm on that for a place and also Railings.

Might put a backbet on Makybe Diva for a place to get my money back if one of the others don't come in.

Re: Melbourne Cup

I was on Eye Popper when it placed at $8.50 in the Caulfeld Cup and I will be on him again come 3:00 this arvo. His jockey ran him 5 deep at Caulfield and was only beaten by a head. Also, coming from Japan, Eye Popper likes a hard track so if the 30 degree forecast is correct, come 3:00 the track should be nice a hard.

Eye Popper EW

Well good luck with that then I've got Eye Popper and Bazelle in sweeps, I don't know whether or not I like getting a horse in the sweep that I've already backed.
