NHL Friday

NHL YTD: 33-26-3 (+8.36 units)
ML: 21-13 (+9.07 units)
GL: 3-3-3 (+.64 units)
O/U: 9-10 (-1.35 units)

1* San Jose Sharks (-150) Over Columbus Blue Jackets - Includes regulation, ot and shootout

The Sharks who are expected by most to battle for the Western Conference this season has really played up and down hockey. There problem has been the road this season where they are 0-4 (including 1 ot loss). The Sharks are shaking it up in net tonight with Toskala getting the nod. Toskala got roughed up in his only action this season but in preseason play he was the far better goalie then Nabokov. One reason I really like the Sharks is they are one of the top teams creating oppurtunities this season as they rank 4th in the league in shots taken per game. Eventually those oppurtunites will start becoming more goals. Not much to say on the early season play by the Blue Jackets. With a 1-5 record and still w/o the services of there captain Rick Nash the Jackets are just struggling mightily. One of the main reason besides lack of offense is the fact they played 5 of 6 on the road. These two met once this season in San Jose where the Sharks came away with a 4-1 win. Eventually this Sharks team will put it together and Columbus is not a daunting road game so I would expect a solid performance from the Sharks.

1* Detroit Red Wings (-150) Over Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Regulation

The Ducks are w/o the services of Giguere and Fedorov tonight. With the exception of Lupul and R. Niedermayer the Ducks have struggled this season. They only managed wins over the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets to date and there road record is just 1-3. The Ducks will have Ilya Bryzgalov in net tonight and he's only played 37 minutes in 2 games this season coming in for Giguere in both cases. He's GAA is 3.27 and has a save percentage of just .882. Red Wings have been one of the best teams in the NHL so far. The Red Wings score roughly 4 goals a game and they only give up 2 goals a game so far this season. It still looks like there depth is outstanding this season as there are many guys on the team playing extremely well. The Wings are 3-1 at home and have played well in there building. With the Ducks starting a rather inexperienced netminder I'm going to go with the Wings in regulation. The Wings have yet to play an OT game this season and I don't think they will tonight. The Wings take this one in regulation.

1* Colorado Avalanche (+110) Over Edmonton Oilers - Includes regulation, ot and shootout

Got burned like most the Avs the other night but I think they rebound in this game. Main reason here for going with the Avs is the way Edmonton's offense is playing without there leader Ryan Smyth. Without Smyth the Oilers have gone 0-5 and have only scored 7 goals in those game combined. Just think a pissed off Avs team getting back there star player in Hejduk tonight comes out rolling. The Oilers are struggling and the Avs are looking to rebound.

Re: NHL Friday

Thanks flmmkrz. Suprised by the Sharks. They've been awful of late. I definetly felt they should have handled the Blue Jackets.
