Re: COX PLATE

FIELDS OF OMAGH

I put $3,000 on him for the place @ $6 on Thursday knowing full well that that price is too good to be true.

The last 2 starts, this brilliant horse has come a place. This special horse is in better form than 2003 when it won. This horse is a champion horse who should be respected. Good horse, very good horse. Special horse.

2003 - Winner
2004 - Runner-Up

Do I think Fields Of Omagh can win it? Probably not, but it didn't stop me putting $50 @ $21 for the win. $6 for the place is safer than picking a winner. But I put $50 for it to win.

Why the hell is Makybe Diva the favourite?

1. Makybe Diva has never won at Mooney Valley
2. It will require one perfect run from the jockey to give Makybe Diva the chance as the straight is too short. So Makybe Diva needs to put in a 100% perfect run to have a chance. Won't happen.

Boxed Trifecta of the following looks good.

Fields Of Omagh
God's Own
Lad Of The Manor

I can see Makybe Diva finishing 4th or 5th.

Fields of Omagh is the horse to be pounded for the place - that is value at its best but everyone is too late as last night when I checked the odds were $3.50. But still decent.

I have a pending $15,000 PROFIT on Fields Of Omagh to run a place.

Time will tell.

3000 x 6 = 18,000
50 x 21 = 1050

18,000 + 1050 = 19,050

If your bets are for real , this is the total amount you have pending on that horse.

I said pending to run a place - not win.

3000 X 6 = 18,000 - however, its a $15,000 profit which was what I was meaning.

If I add the win, it's a $16,000 profit.

Re: COX PLATE

I said win instead of profit. I will now edit my post to change the words around as I was meaning profit.

Re: COX PLATE

Hey lads - its been a while between drinks! Haven't really been punting much lately because of Year 12 Exams but I'm always willing to take some time out to have a go at the bigger races.

Ive had a pretty good start to the spring carnival, backing Mnemosyne in the 1000 Guineas, Eye Popper EW in the Caulfield Cup and then losing a third of my profit when I went down to the Moe races. But it's all a bit of fun and today I like God's Own, on the back of its sensational last 200m in the Caulfield Guineas.

Although never having started at the distance, God's Own's finish two weeks ago proves that it should have no problems stepping up in distance. Due to the short straights at MV, races can easily come down to sprint finishes at the end, and that's where God's Own should come into a league of its own (unless the Diva has an open run).

Only time will tell, but for now I'm happy to take God's Own EW at around the $9 mark.
