NHL Monday

NHL YTD: 9-9 (+1.37 units)

Will get to the later games sometime this afternoon. These are the early games.

1* New York Rangers (-135) Over Washington Capitals

The Rangers win is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. Rangers have shown early on there a tough team to play. They've gotten solid play overall. The same really can't be said for the Capitals. They've been horrid the last couple of games and I don't expect things to get better here. Both teams at full strength and Weekes and Kolzig will be the goalies.

1* New York Islanders/Florida Panthers Under 6.5 (-135)

First instinct was Over here. Isles will be a good over team this season but I don't think this game will go Over. Dipietro was fantastic against the Hurricanes and he should give another great performance tonight. Luongo will be in net for the Panthers again and he's only conceded 2 goals in his 3 starts this season. Just expect a 3-2 type game here. I think the Isles will win but for some reason I'm having a hard time backing them. I think the Under is the better play.

Good Luck to All!!!!

Re: NHL Monday

GL corey

I'm on the Pens +110 over Buffalo

Simply a better offensive team. Fleury could get the start tonight and has looked sharp in the minors but either way Miller has looked bad while Biron gets rocked by Pitt on the regular.

Also Toronto +190 over the Sens...

The leafs always play the sens tough and with the leafs winless so far pressure is on them to get a win here. They've had 2 tough losses already so look for the leafs to come out banging and grind out a win here.

Re: NHL Monday

Thanks flmmkrz...Good Luck. Don't underestimate the Sabres offense. They are a very fast team and there playing very well right now. The Senators game they were bound to lose but they've got a solid squad. Opposites on the Leafs game. Sens are way better.

1* Ottawa Senators (-1) (-132) Over Toronto Maple Leafs

The Goaline is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. Ottawa already beat Toronto 3-2 this season but that was on the heels of a shootout win. Ottawa has seemed to put things together with there 5-0 whitewash win over Buffalo. So far Ottawa has played extremely well through there two games. Toronto has been that bad but they haven't been great in losing both there games to Toronto and Montreal. Both games were 1 goal losses but I feel Ottawa will manage a 2 or 3 goal win here.

1* Anaheim Mighty Ducks (-135) Over Edmonton Oilers

The Duck win is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. The Ducks head home after a good road trip. A win and an OT loss can be seen as a good trip considering they played two tough teams in Nashville and Chicago. Edmonton is off two good home wins but they'll be traveling today without there best offensvie player Ryan Smyth. Should be a tight game but Anaheim in there home opener should be good enough.

Re: NHL Monday

Sens are always better they just dont always win

I'm taking the value with Toronto as the first game could've gone either way so at 190 thats an inflated price imo.

As for Buffalo i'm not underestimating them but they are terrible on the back end and shouldn't be able to stop Mario and co from scoring, they'll get their chances but if it comes out to a tight game I like Pitts goalies better, if it comes out to a high scoring game I trust Pitt to score more.

i love this play, i'm on it as well, don't know the pens are the dogs in this one. sabres were shocking against ottawa. also liking the over in this game as well...

Pitts ML v Sabres - $2.09 (full game, inc shootout)

OVERS 6.5 Pitts v Sabres - $1.80, both teams lack D

Senators ML v Maple Leafs - $1.74 (in regulation)

good luck!

Re: NHL Monday

Split on the early games. Rangers gave that one away as they should have NEVER given up that goal with 6 seconds left in the 2nd period. Isle-Panther game was an easy Under.

BG - Good luck

FLM - I disagree with Buffalo goaltending. I've seen Miller in net and with the exception of the Ottawa game he's been excellent. Also note that Ottawa-Buffalo game fell under the 3/4 trend which is teams who play 3 games in 4 days tend to lose that 3rd game. It's a very strong trend. So I wasn't suprised to see Buffalo get schooled in that game.

1* Boston Bruins/Tampa Bay Lightning Under 7 (-155)

Will be in the minority on this one. On the surface this looks like an Over game. Boston scored 7 goals in there thrilling comeback against Pittsburgh on Saturday. That is the reasoning for this high total. But that was Pittsburgh a clear Over team for this season. In Boston's other two games they played 4-1 and 2-1. As for Tampa they played a 5-2 game against Carolina and two clear under games against Florida 2-0 and 2-1. I look for Raycroft to have a much better game tonight and the TB goalie situation is up in the air. According to the St. Petersburg Times Grahme will be the starter but they also say that there's a chance that Burke will be in net. I just see a tight affair here with something like a 3-2 game. 4-3 is not out of the question which would push. My fear is of a penalty ridden game which would make this a 5-3 or 5-4 type game. I think this is another case of an inflated number.

Re: NHL Monday

One more on another total.

1* Toronto Maple Leafs/Ottawa Senators Under 7 (-150)

These two played to a 3-2 game in there first meeting. Tight defensive game with both goalies playing well. Ottawa has yet to play an Over. 3-0, 3-2 and 5-0 were there finals while Toronto played 4-1, 3-2 and 5-4. I just think this will be another tight battle between rivals. An inflated number here. You'll probably see 5 goals here in a 4-1 type game. Definetly the possibility of a 4-3, 5-2 or 5-3 game here but I think there's a better chance at the under. It also helps that O'Neill and Sundin are out for the Leafs.

Without Sundin and O'Neill I see them having a difficult time scoring.

Re: NHL Monday

Why do you keep backing the Pens? They haven't won a game and are down 2-1 again tonight.

Re: NHL Monday

Back to 2-2 now, Pens had a whopping 3 SOG that period, not a good save% for the Sabres goalie that period. You'd think if they can get more pressure on the Sabres goalie, they can squeeze some more goals in.
