GOLF - US & EUROPEAN PGA TOURS (6 - 9 Oct)

Thought I'd get this up early so people have an idea of where I'm heading.

Last weeks golfing performance.

WINS: 22
LOSSES: 11

Cashed in on the winner before the tournament on the US PGA and the winner during the tournament aswell on the European PGA as the Round balls with also 2 top 10 finish's.

On the US PGA Circuit this week we have the World Golf Championship and on the European PGA Circuit this week we have the Abama Open de Canaria.

WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP - US PGA

Michael Campbell comes back to US soil and I think that he will get a top 10 finish. May perhaps take the win.

Top 10 finish: Michael Campbell @ $4.50
Top 10 finish: Sergio Garcia @ $2.50

These 4 players I have a chance of winning. I think I will avoid the winners because there's money to be made on Campbell for a top 10 finish @ $4.50.

I might put a small play on Michael Campbell @ $51. Those odds are ridiculous considering the form he's been in and that he won the US Open. Ridiculous odds IMO. Worth a small play.

Incidently, last week's winner, K J Choi is also @ $51. He was hitting the ball beautifully last week.

Winner:

Leaning: Tiger Woods @ $3.50
Leaning: Michael Campbell @ $51
Leaning: Phil Mickelson @ $11
Leaning: Vijay Singh @ $8.50
Leaning: Sergio Garcia @ $21
Leaning: Chris DiMarco @ $31

I'll finalise those plays later on. The top 10 finish's are my bets I will be placing and I will be throwing a small amount on Campbell. Ridiculous odds.

I'll be back tomorrow with the first round 3 balls.

Definately float a small stake on Campbell to win!

ABAMA OPEN DE CANARIA - EUROPEAN PGA

Looking at that field, it's virtually impossible to pick a winner. I'm not even going to touch this tournament including the Round 1 3 balls. I prefer to wait till the end of Round 1 so I can get an idea of who is doing what and how the course is performing.

Top 10 finish: Ricardo Gonzalez @ $2.35 - Was hitting the ball well last week.
Top 10 finish: Marcus Fraser @ $6.50

Those 2 bets are the only ones I would lean on for anything. I will wait till the end of the third round before I attempt to choose a winner. I may not do those, but they are my first impressions at a top 10 finish. This tournament like I said is virtually hard to predict until after at least the first round. I'll finalise if I do these plays sometime tomorrow.

Re: GOLF - US & EUROPEAN PGA TOURS (6 - 9 Oct)

Thanks Bolar

Willhill don't offer odds for top 10 finish. I've taken your advice about Campbell and put money on him to finish the top player from the Rest of the World (not European or American) @ 13. I think Singh and Choi will be his main oponents in this

Garcia to finish top of European @ 4.50

C Dimarco V J Leonard - Dimarco to win @ 1.72

K J Choi V S Maruyama - Choi to win @ 1.83

I'm with you on Campbell, I got 66 though

66/1 to win it. Or $67 if you prefer it in those terms.

Re: GOLF - US & EUROPEAN PGA TOURS (6 - 9 Oct)

Finalised bets for the WGC AmEx Championship

Top 10 finish: Michael Campbell @ $4.50
Top 10 finish: Sergio Garcia @ $2.50
Top European: Sergio Garcia @ $4.50

Tournament head to heads:

Michael Campbell over Angel Cabrera @ $1.97
K J Choi over Shigeki Maruyama @ $1.97

The only problem Choi will face is if he lets last weeks win get on top of him. But he's the form player and in better form than Shigeki.

Winner: Michael Campbell @ $51
Winner: Tiger Woods @ $3.50

Cannot let those odds slip for Campbell. It's only a small stake but potential major payout.

Re: GOLF - US & EUROPEAN PGA TOURS (6 - 9 Oct)

Round 1 - 3 balls. My selections for this tournament.

Tiger Woods over Stuart Appleby and Euan Walters @ $1.55 (his only challenger is Appleby and Tiger usually starts tournaments off well whereas Appleby settles in)

Michael Campbell over Justin Leonard and Graham McDowell @ $2.55 (Leonard is his only challenger here and I believe Campbell will prevail)

Phil Mickelson over Neil Cheetham and Henrik Stenson @ $1.65 (Stenson will be Phil's only challenger here, but Stenson plays his best golf on European soil)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not touching the other tournament until tomorrow.

Tiger Woods over Stuart Appleby and Euan Walters @ $1.55 (his only challenger is Appleby and Tiger usually starts tournaments off well whereas Appleby settles in) - WON Woods -3, Appleby +1, Walters +4

Michael Campbell over Justin Leonard and Graham McDowell @ $2.55 (Leonard is his only challenger here and I believe Campbell will prevail) - LOST McDowell -1, Stenson Even, Campbell +1 - Pound Campbell tomorrow.

Phil Mickelson over Neil Cheetham and Henrik Stenson @ $1.65 (Stenson will be Phil's only challenger here, but Stenson plays his best golf on European soil) - LOST - Stenson -1, Mickelson +1, Cheetham +7

Leaderboard

1. Colin Montgomery -6
T2. Tiger Woods - 3
T2. Mark Calcavecchia - 3
T2. John Daly - 3
T2. Olin Browne - 3
T2. Sergio Garcia -3
T2. David Howell -3
T2. Fred Funk -3
T2. Ian Poulter -3
T2. Vijay Singh -3
T2. Chad Campbell -3
T2. Rod Pampling - 3

T14.Adam Scott -2
T27. K J Choi - Even
T36. Michael Campbell +1
T36. Phil Mickelson +1
T36. Chris Dimarco +1
T62. Shigeki Maruyama +4

I think Campbell is going to have a blinder next round.

Montgomery is starting this week the way he finished last week. Won't hold it though. Can't see him staying in the lead at the end of round 2.

I don't think Maruyama will make the cut.

Bring on the 2 balls now.

If I have some money today from the tennis, I'll put one unit on Monty @ 7. He is not slowing down too much yet
