Re: Cricket - Natwest Challenge

Australia 27-0 after 9 overs...............very conservative play from a normally wild opening pair

Re: Cricket - Natwest Challenge

Natwest Challenge second match......this series; ahead of the upcoming ashes ;appears to be quite meaningless....so both sets of players will treat this as practice....hence going for runs............

Parlay Australia 1st ten overs >42 runs x England 1st ten overs >40 runs @2.00

Go on Brett Lee!

We wouldn't ask a rose that grew from the concrete why it had damaged petals... we would all celebrate its tenacity, we would love its will to reach the sun, well, we are the roses, this is the concrete and these are my damaged petals, dont ask me why - thank God, and ask me how".

I live here. But am not from here/there. I'm not an England-hater just an Aussie-fan, when it comes to cricket. It makes a nice contrast from supporting Zimbabwe - as I'm sure you can imagine

Yup. Though I do it very quietly.

What gets me is while the Intl cricket is going on players like the Flower Brothers, Murray Goodwin, Andy blignaut and loads others are playing excellent cricket for their county sides.

Stupid politics

One of my mates went to South Africa last December and actually went to Zimbabwe as well. He was telling me that he was amazed at how much talent the kids who he was watching playing cricket in Harare had, and mind you my mate is an Indian so he has seen many Indian kids playing as well.

If only they had the support and sporting infrastructure like Australia enjoys with things like full time cricket coaches and academies, they could actually realise their full potential. And then of course like you said their is an added problem with respect to the political instability over there.

yeah, it's always good to hear people who've had actual experiences of Africa speak of how much potential and good stuff there is going on there. Rather than those who just accept the newspaper/TV version which are only interested in accentuating the negatives.

Anyway, back to the cricket....
