2010 Tour de France

This deserves it's own thread.

Andy Schleck top three @ $1.85 is solid. Andy Schleck to be the winner (without Contador) @ $3 is also a lock.

Found some solid head to heads too. Basso over Evans etc.

All bets later in the week and closer to the time.

I spoke too early about Andy. Frank may not be riding the Tour. If that is the case then Andy will struggle.

Australia under 1.5 stage wins looks interesting.

Contador under 2.5 stage wins looks interesting too.

Why? Because of him organizing the new Team Luxemburg? No way he misses the Tour.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

Riis is pissed off everyone went behind his back in organising a new team. He wants honesty from his riders and none of them were up front with him. He's not going to give Andy the flick because he knows he's a decent chance of winning, but it's Frank he's more pissed off with. He's having a meeting today with Frank Schleck to discuss if he should ride the tour or not.

Frank not riding would piss off Andy. He will ride.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

I know Riis will have to select him, but there's a possibility he won't. Put yourself in his shoes. Sponsors have pulled out of negotiations, you can't find any sponsors and riders are getting edgy and going behind your back and you feel like you are nothing.

The whole squad are not mentally switched on to ride the Tour at the moment. Not knowing what their future is and to have your employer pissed off at you does not send good vibes through the camp and I can tell you that it is affecting all the riders big time. Not good preparation for the Tour.

If Riis doesn't select Frank, he has no brains.

But the guy is on the warpath and having meetings with riders and asking them why they should start on Saturday. Not good preparation IMO.

You would hope Andy Schleck is mentally strong and in fact everyone in the camp is. If they are not, then the whole situation will affect them.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

Overall Head to Heads

7 units Roman Kreuziger over Jurgen Van Den Broeck @ $1.55
6 units Joaquim Rodriguez over Jurgen Van Den Broeck @ $2.10
6 units Andy Schleck over Frank Schleck @ $1.47
4 units Lance Armstrong over Bradley Wiggins @ $1.62
6 units Ivan Basso over Cadel Evans @ $1.60
4 units Denis Menchov over Cadel Evans @ $2

Top 10 Finish

4 units Joaquim Rodriguez @ $6
1 unit Vladimir Karpets @ $34
6 units Roman Kreuziger @ $1.91

Teams Classification H2H

8 units Bbox Bouygues Telecom over Footon Servetto @ $2.02 - Rolland, Fedrigo, Voeckler and a few others compared to a young team with half making their TDF debuts. Yes please.

4 units Liquigas over Columbia @ $1.52 - Basso, Kreuziger and Szmyd over Martin and Rogers. Yes Please.

4 units Liquigas over Rabobank @ $2.50 - This should be more like $1.85 for both. Liquigas are well over the odds.

Mountains Classification

.2 units Eros Capecchi @ $101
.2 units Matthew Lloyd @ $101
.3 units Cadel Evans @ $51
.3 units Thomas Voeckler @ $51
.4 units Christophe Moreau @ $67
1.5 units Egoi Martinez @ $11
.5 units Amets Txurruka @ $17
.5 units Amael Moinard @ $51
.3 units Perrick Fedrigo @ $51

Points Classification

4 units Oscar Freire over Edvald Boasson-Hagen @ $1.83 - Will EBH finish his first GT? Probably not.

6 units Tyler Farrar over Alessandro Petacchi @ $1.47 - Farrar will be more consistent than Petacchi. Better than bank interest.

Stage Wins

5 units Cavendish over 3.5 @ $1.80

Group Betting

1 unit Sanchez over Armstrong, Wiggins, Basso, Evans @ $14

Top Frenchman

1 unit Pierre Rolland @ $15

Le Mevel, Casar etc will probably get in a lucky break and get time but Rolland is the better Frenchman here. He's displayed that he's climbing better than last year. He finished around 20th last year and he didn't benefit from a break. He did try a few breaks. As he's the better Frenchman here, I just think it's worthwhile putting a small bet on him. Hopefully he does benefit from a break. Bbox are certainly confident in him to produce a high result.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

There isn't a specific leader at Rabobank. There is actually no need to since they most probably won't have to control the race in any point during this Tour.

By the way: This isn't Boasson Hagen's first GT, he already rode and finished the Giro last year.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

I meant the Tour. He originally wasn't going to ride it. Then Sky plucked him out for it.

Ale, Menchov would be the top Rabobank rider in the GC. He's based his season around the TDF. He was climbing like crap in the Dauphine though. Not a good sign. But they won't have a specific leader. Whether he finishes high up remains to be seen.

Just like Liquigas's leader will be decided on the road. Both Basso and Kreuziger have stated that it's whoever has the legs. Then Basso has come out and said it's purely him and Kreuziger will be his bitch. So who the hell knows!

I read that. Basso lost Kreuziger right there.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

Reading what Basso said today, i would be shocked if he finishes the Tour in the top 5 or 6. I'm almost sure now that Kreuziger is the leader unless he blows up.

Re: 2010 Tour de France

Kreuziger would have proven he is the leader in the first mountain stages anyway. Basso will ride top ten. I reckon about 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th. Kreuziger will be more like 6th or 7th. Basso was living in dream world thinking he could win.
