January 11th...

I like some French matches tonight:

Lens v Nancy: Lens are unbeaten in 19 league matches with a 5-4-0 home record and not conceded in 6 out of 9 home league matches. Nancy are 3-0-6 on the road and have only scored in those wins. They have lost 5 of those 6 matches 1-0.
Lens to win to nil @ 2.43 (Gamebookers)
Lens-Nancy [Correct score] 1:0 @ 6.50 (Widely available)

Monaco v Strasbourg: Monaco under their coach who replaced Deschamps after a poor start have won their last 5 home matches. All five wins have been without a goal conceded. They have actually not conceded in 7 out of 9 home matches. Strasbourg are the complete opposite as they struggle for goals scoring in only 6 out of 20 league games so far and when they don't score on the road they usually lose - only resisting defeat against Ajaccio and Metz who are equally awful teams.
Monaco to win to nil @ 2.38 (Gamebookers)

Rennes v Le Mans: Rennes have picked up their form and face Le Mans who are poor travellers only scoring in 1 out of 9 away league matches so far this season. They have a very impressive home record where they score many goals so it seems a clear intention to concentrate on home performances in their bid to avoid relegation. However, Rennes have conceded in nearly all home matches, but scored in nearly every one too. More importantly in the majority of those occasions more than once.
Rennes to win @ 1.83 (Paddy Power)

Lyon v Marseille: Big match and of course Lyon will look to win after their last home match was a 3-1 defeat against Lille. This is another big match with passion, rivalry and history. Marseille are unbeaten in 6 matches and the Lyon win looks likely but would not risk it with the odds in question. Instead looking at Lyon home wins; 6 of the 7 have been by a single goal. Marseille too have lost 3 of their 5 away losses by this margin and as this is a tight match perhaps this could be worth a try instead?
Lyon to win by one goal @ 3.70 (Gamebookers)

Good luck

Thanks although it's a shorter version of a piece I wrote over at another forum. Anyway on the bets... well anything is worth a try after the couple of lousy days of tennis we've all had.

Re: January 11th...

Mixed bag last night:

Lens 1:2 Nancy (Unbeaten record gone too )
Monaco 1:1 Strasbourg (Conceded straight after they score )
Rennes 1:0 Le Mans (Easy )
Lyon 2:1 Marseille (Great turnaround )

At least the better prices for the 2 wins paid for a dissapointing night in the French Ligue 1 for most punters. Roll on the weekend...
