Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

Portugal to win there group @ 2.35 is value, Czech Republic aren't half the side they were in 2004 with Koller & Baros past there prime, not to mention they will be missing arguably there best player Rosicky. Switzerland for me will be there biggest threat but i just don't think they have the skill to win the group, Turkey in all honesty lack the fire power to even threat the group.

Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

Im thinking of Adding Portugal+0.5 @ $1.18 to my multi

Nadal + Gold COast Titans + Hawthorn + Geelong + Portugal+0.5 @$1.99

Surely Portugal will WIN or DRAW their first game..

Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

Well surely Portugal would still win or draw against Turkey.

Even if i done a different multi etc. just adding Nadal to win vs Novak & Portugal +0.5

They might lack of many things but not firepower, Kahveci and Tuncay upfront is no joke

Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

I'll also try with some bets

Czech Republic less than 3 points in the group @4.50
Turkey more than 4 points in the group @5.00
Germany more than 7 points in the group @4.33 (that means 3 victories)
Romania less than 1 point in the group @6.00 (that means 3 losses)

These can't be played in a multibet, but I'll try in a single bet!

Juan Martin Del Potro: Simply the best!

Nikolay Davydenko * Mikhail Youzhny * Mario Ancic * Janko Tipsarevic * Andrey Golubev * Amer Delic * JP Brzezicki * Mathieu Montcourt * Ilia Bozoljac * Kei Nishikori * Thiemo De Bakker * Blaz Kavcic * Jerzy Janowicz * Henri Kontinen * Grigor Dimitrov * Tim Smyczek * Marcelo Demoliner * Lars Poerschke * David Goffin * Yuki Bhambri * Marius Copil

Portugal has the same pb that Spain had in nineties. They have some old players who don't want to leave their team for young guns. Personally i don't see Portugal win their group.

Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

Would be interested to do a bit of Spread Betting with the Euro. I wreckon Portugal should be a good corner team as they use the wings and cross the ball. Worth a go imo.

Portuguese starting team for tomorrow (already confirmed by Scolari):

Ricardo (32 years old)
Bosingwa (25 years old)
Carvalho (30 years old)
Pepe (25 years old)
Ferreira (29 years old)
Petit (31 years old)
Moutinho (21 years old)
Deco (30 years old)
Ronaldo (23 years old)
Simao (28 years old)
Nuno Gomes (31 years old)

That gives an age average of 27.7 years old. It's an experienced team, but not old, at least comparing with some other national squads, like France.

EDIT: Also there is a clear mini-revolution in the team, by not calling up Costinha (33 years old), Nuno Valente (33 years old) and Maniche (30 years old), players which were part of the starting team in the world cup in 2006. And I'm not counting with the international retirements of Figo, Rui Costa and Pauleta. Also at least Petit will retire from the national squad after the Euro.

Re: Euro 2008 Group Stage Matches

local book:

Portugal to beat Turkey @1,90
Switzerland-Czech Republic under 2,5 goals @1,65

Portugal is the public play, but at such odds i had to try
