Welcome to the first tournament of Automachia Tennis, the Abu Dhabi Exhibition:

What is Automachia Tennis?

-Create your own player, making customised statistics based on eight characteristics.
-Compete in a 21-week season on the Tour, consisting of 9 Masters, 4 Grand Slams, 2 Weeks of Davis Cup and the WTF
-Send tactical picks, like Service Speed, Aggressiveness and Effort, over 8-hour cycles, judged with complex, custom-created formulae.

How to Send Picks:

During each cycle, you send these choices to your manager:

Service Speed:
Passive, Normal, Emphasised, Aggressive and Reckless

Aggressiveness:
Passive, Normal, Emphasised, Aggressive and Reckless

Aim:
Concentrated Backhand, Pressured Backhand, Central, Pressured Forehand, Concentrated Forehand

Effort
Lazy, Normal, Exerted, Extreme and Flat-Out
If you fail to send your picks, your player will play on default settings. If you fail to send three times in a row you will be disqualified from the tournament.

This Tournament:

As this is an experimental exhibition, there will be a few changes:

1. There are no points awarded (although prize money will be)
2. There are no AI opponents, just players
3. Rather than a knockout, a Round-Robin system will be used. Players will be split into two groups (A and B) and will play every other player in the group. The first-placed players from each group will then engage in a 1st-place play-off, the second-placed players for a 3rd-place play-off etc.
4. Court Surface is Outdoor Hard, Fatigue Level is 1

I've PM'd anyone who I can think of, not sure there's much more we can do.

#9 ·
Given that we've only got 6 people, could the 3 other users with fictional players send me a brief Biography and character description of their players so I could perhaps put in brief match descriptions?

Thanks, that's brilliant (although players, bear in mind that you all have to send for matches at the same time regardless of "Day" or "Night" session)

Not sure what I'm going to do about Goffin and Zverev, distant cousins or time travel magic? ;)

We're not doing semis, just a play-off for 5th place, 3rd place and 1st place

Day One:

1pm: And it's a Latin line-up today, with Pablo Echeverri, the newest talent from Colombia, going up against Cesar Ramirez II, inspired by his brother and hoping to achieve even higher. Both these players, with games based on speed and baseline play, always produce entertaining matches. With impressive junior careers behind them, having won the 2015 Boys' Roland Garros Doubles at the age of 16, and having played multiple times. Ramirez leads their Junior Head-to-Head 5-3 but this is the first time that they've played since graduating to the senior circuit.

6pm: After that entertaining match, it's now time to move over to our night match of the Abu Dhabi International Championships, where we have a cross-channel meeting between Matthew "Golden Boy" Hammond, the latest in a line of Talents from Down Under, and David Goffin, the young Belgian talent. Both have impressive career records, with Hammond the victor at Junior Australian Open last year and Junior World no2, and although Goffin has only climbed as high as no10 in the Junior Rankings, his game showed impressive prospects. As both players warm up, we await to see who will emerge victor in only their fifth meeting, with the previous occasions split two each, with the most recent match being between them in the Wimbledon First Round, which Hammond scraped by a tiny margin.

Make sure picks are sent soon!
