World Series In Game :)

Saint Louis Cardinals vs Detroit Tigers

Game 1: Saturday 21st 7:09 PM Central in Detroit (Reyes vs Verlander)
Game 2: Sunday 22nd 7:09 PM Central in Detroit (Weaver vs Rogers)
Game 3: Tuesday 24rd 7:19 PM Central in Saint Louis (Carpenter vs Robertson)
Game 4: Wen. 25th 7:19 PM Central in Saint Louis (Suppan vs Bonderman)
Game 5: Thrusday 26th 7:19 PM Central in Saint Louis
Game 6: Saturday 28th 7:09 PM Cental in Detroit
Game 7: Sunday 28th 7:09 PM Central in Detroit

First to 4 wins.

Saint Louis Cardinals (83-79 Regular Season, 7-4 Playoffs)
History- 17 NL Titles, 9 World Series Titles
Last World Series 2004 (lost to Boston)

2006 Season Preview: Injuries after Injuries pretty much says it all. Edmonds missed couple months, Pujols missed 20 games, Rolen missed games, Mulder out for season, same for Izzy. This is the main reason for the poor regular season record.

Hitting: Streaky hitting team. they go as Pujols goes. Pujols the best player in the MLB, he will need players in front of him to get on base.
Edmonds has 13 career playoff Homeruns to go along with 56hits. Plently of playoff experince down the line up

Pitching: Chris Carpenter last years Cy-Young will need to win both of his starts. Suppan is coming of an amazing NLCS (15ing 1 er) no reason to think that he cant do it again, vs team that is not as good of hitting team as the Mets. Weaver has always had good stuff but with him its all in the head.
Cards 4th starter is a rookie Reyes...

Bullpen: young young young bullpen. Did amazing vs the Padres in round 1 and only had 1 bad game vs the Mets. They're young but good. Wainwright is a beast of a closer. Two good lefties and Josh Kinney has been unhittable from the right side.

Bench: So Taguchi is 4 for 4 with 2 HR in the playoffs..cant beat perfect right? Chris Duncan can hit a 500ft HR any time he bats..he will get a start vs a RH pitcher.

Manager: Tony La Russa. 3rd on all time wins list. This will be his 5th World Series. he knows his stuff.

This team won 100 games in 2004 and 2005. they were on same pace this year when they were 36-19 but thats when the injuries started pile up.
Most of the "experts" on ESPN say Tigers will win this in 5 or 6 but the Cards wont let that happen. Look for them to win 1 of 2 games in Detroit and 2 in St.Louis. coming back to DET with 3-2 lead.

Tigers Preview coming soon ( as soon as i find out info on them )

Re: World Series Preview

If Cards had home field advantage and Pujols and Rolens were 100% fit, I'd think about backing them outright

But at this stage Tigers in 5 or 6 but won't place any future bets as yet.

Re: World Series Preview

If the Cards can win game 1 or 2...they're in great shape...Carp and Sup have been unhittable at home. Carp has 1.70 ERA at home this year...Suppan is 7-2 3.18 ERA

might as well give that money to charity

Cards are winning game 1

Cards are hitting .345 vs Verlander 10 hits in 29 ab...Pujols 2 for 2. Balliard 3 for 3.

and with Carp and Suppan at home...there two wins right there. Tiggers hitting is not nearly as good as the Mets.

Cards in 6

I dont know I just really dont like baseball the Cards to win the series are paying almost 2/1 I really just dont want to pay attention or I will want to make a bet on each game, baseball really is the hardest thing to bet on.

So what you have 2 names on MTF?

What`s that based on, one game of interleague play in June that Verlander won? As to the series, I wouldn`t put your money where your heart is...

Verlander has not pitched over 5.1 in any playoff start and has over 100 pitches in each of them. Cards cant hit the slow throwing lefties...but they can turn on a fastball...Chris Duncan will be a DH tomorrow...98MPH fastball meeting his bat...

You are a fan and biased so your "facts" are questionable, yet I`m not going to bother trying to refute them.... Verlander`s arm will be very rested, means a lot of zip, he has more than fastballs, and is undefeated in post season. But if you like the Cards tomorrow get down on it, is going for +170 at the moment. And good luck with Reyes...

Re: World Series Preview

Im hoping Reyes has his control tomorrow when he does..he is good...had a no hitter vs the White Sox until the 8th this year.

Like i said about Suppan last night...Reyes will have great game 0-1 er 6or7 ing or really bad one 3ing 6er

Tiggers will be cold...7days off...first ing will be the key
if he can start out good...get some confidence..and Cards get couple runs early....that will be the game.

THIS IS OUR YEAR
