Re: NBA Wednesday 6th Dec
Tonight for the most interesting game is the Eastern conference battle between the Pacers and Magic. Both coming off long west coast trips, Magic easily having the more successful trip. Pacers have just come off the toughest sequence of games faced by any team this league, having played 7 lots of B2b games and playing the last 13 of 19 games on the road. However if you look at the Pacers' recent road trip, I don't believe they have played that badly as they started off with wins against both Portland and Golden State, then got sunk by a streaky Ridnour buzzer beater in Seattle before getting run off the court in Denver and Los Angeles. Now they they get some respite as they play their next 5 of 7 at home, don't think this is not lost on coach Carlisle:
" We're the kind of team that can't take anything for granted once we get off the road. There's a high premium of concentrating and playing well at home. That's been a struggle for us the last couple of years. We're going to have to concentrate on playing well at our own place "
Carlisle has been tooling around with his starting 5 ever since the season has started, but even he admits they have gone away from what has made the Pacers so successful as a dominant Eastern Conference team, "We haven't done a good job on defense to start games"
I think it is very easy to take the Magic tonight given what has just happened to both teams on the road, but before they started the long road trip, Pacers were 4-1 SU & ATS at Conseco last 5 games and same record against the Magic at home as well in the last 5 games both SU and ATS. They both played in Orlando on 22 Nov and the Pacers were controlling that game until a lapse in the 3rd qtr where the Magic went on a 10-0 run which effectively sealed the 5 point home win.
The +/- 2 line is too tight for my comfort when I have so much coin on this one so I'll accept the juice in this one and play them str8 up tonight:
Pacers ML v Magic - (-130) (15)
