NBL ROUND FIVE

Contrary to most I think NZ has a big chance against Wollongong tonight .. A tough schedule has to take it's toll on the Hawks tonight, they're playing their third game in five days .. and that stretch has included a trip to Singapore ..

The Breakers have to make a statement and quickly .. tonight is a chance to do that against a team certain to be a little jaded ..

Under 199.5 points appeals because of the fatigue factor with the Hawks .. Not sure if I'll hit it yet but will mull over the play for the next half hour or so ..

Re: NBL ROUND FIVE

I'm on the over tonight, CB has it listed at 196.5 whereas a lot of other places have it at 199.5-200.5

OVERS 196.5 Hawks v Breakers - $1.90

good luck

Re: NBL ROUND FIVE

Thanks Andrew & Dave ..

The total ended up a bit of a coin toss in the end .. but the Breakers did at least live up to my hunch and turn the corner in terms of their performance ..

Can't for the life of me comprehend why the Breakers didn't swoop on Dereck Rucker during the off season .. He's at worst a temporary solution to their point guard problem, which is a major achilles heel .. The season's only a few weeks old, cruch some numbers and get him in your line up!!

I'll be interested to see what he has to say on Wednesday night (NBL Wrap)...

My signature sucked so I made this one instead.

I agree Rucker would have been a great pickup for them given their current lineup. I've read alot of crap about Wethers on the net eg. the most unworthy MVP of all time, overated. Don't buy it, he is in the elite players in this league IMO. A big part of the Breakers problem is they have players that don't do enough and aren't really up to this level. Namely IMO Charleton, Olson (on current form) and Henare. The jury is still out on Powell, he may have solid numbers but I'm far from sold.
There is enough in this team if they can stay healthy to make a run at the playoffs still.....

Agree .. alot of the pieces are there for New Zealand, but gee I just wonder what a top notch point guard would do for them .. It's their biggest weakness atm ..

Re: NBL ROUND FIVE

Unique/good situation for wenesdays games. The 3 games all follow each other, so u can know or pretty much know the result of each game before wagering on the next.

Re: NBL ROUND FIVE

One bet for now :

Parlay :

Brisbane ML / Wellington +12.5 (-144)----------1.5 units

Brisbane to beat the NZB tonight and then Wellington to cover 12.5 vs Waikato in NZ rugby in a few days.

May add more for tonight's action......

Re: NBL ROUND FIVE

Talking about the Breakers and specifically Powell, after watching the Pigs-Breakers game live, to me Powell is a type of player who plays for the stats. There were plenty of times where they were in a fast break and instead of going to the open man he would try and do it all himself.

Agree with Dave though - I think this team could still cause a few headaches to some of the top teams as the season progresses
