Re: World Champs - 19th August

Is anyone betting on the daily specals??

e.g Biggest winner, Top Pointscorer for the day?

My signature sucked so I made this one instead.

Just saw that and Greece at $2.40 looks very very tempting for tomorrow...

BG, can you explain why you fancy the aussies to close this spread? From what i saw, the Aussies only got Bogut in the front and that's it(maybe just tell me about the lineup players). Brazil's squad looks strong with Varejao, Barbosa, Splitter and some other players that are playing at europe.

BTW - Greece are defence team, i don't think they will be the top scorers. Even though Qatar is pretty weak, Greece ain't got top class shooters.

The problem Ausralia had in the leadup series against NZ was that they were missing a PG who could run the offense. Well now they got CJ Bruton back for this tournament and he difference was obvious during the Stankovic Cup where he basically controlled their games.

They played a full strength Greece VERY close and then beat France and lost to China on he buzzer. Another player to watch is Brad Newley who is super quick across the court. The other guard Bruce is more of a defensive guard but given Bruton's offense I don't think is a huge issue that he won' contribute offensively.

Problem is their front court IMO, they lost Anstey which is a massive blow, so there will be a lot of reliance on Bogut inside now.

Brazil are a very scrappy team, and one who I don't see can really blow decent opposition away. Australia a $4 is worth a shot IMO

The bet I was referring to is of the teams playing on Day 1, who will win by the greatest margin, not who will score most

It's a shame Antsey, Andersen AND Nielsen couldn't play for Australia - what a team we would have then

Re: World Champs - 19th August

Day 1 :

Australia +8.5 over Brazil-------------1 unit

PR +29.5 over USA--------------0.8 of a unit

Greece -31.5 over Qatar--------------0.4 of a unit

Also need Lithuania to win SU to cash a parlay.

Re: World Champs - 19th August

My depth in worldwide basketball is not great enough to back any team (bar Australia) with a whole lot of confidence...

So I'm only going small with these bets:

Argentina -8 over France @ $1.90

Italy -8 over China @ $1.90

Argentina x Lithuania x Italy @ $2.00

and just for fun.. interesting to see how this goes:

Greece x Spain x Argentina to win their groups @ $3.82

My signature sucked so I made this one instead.
