A little more support for the home boy wouldn't go amiss
Liking one in particular - Ljubicic over Monfils @ 1.44
Ljubo is quite simply a better player in virtually every category. His serving was sick in R2 (100% success on 1st serve and 20+ aces in 2 sets
) and his movement on court, dare I say it, is not bad compared to Monfils spending much of R1 on his ass.
1.83 Gonzo v Flip 1.83.
Flip a coin with Gonzo's match
Really can't call it...Gonzo is probably 51% favourite but Flip's serving was excellent yesterday and he won 2 matches in 7 hours so he must be in reasonable nick.
Wang over Tursunov @ 3.75
? I don't really like to oppose Dima but he was yo-yo like against Udomchoke. Wang adapts well to grass and could have too much graft for him. That said, I'd still expect Tursunov to blow him (and most others) off the court.
Mirnyi over Hewitt @ 2.75
? Courts are playing fast and Mirnyi is enjoying them. Hewitt struggled in R2 and his form this year has shown a surprising weakness against powerful players, including serve volleyers (re: defeat to Henman in AMS Miami).
Ollie Rochus over Safin @ 2.25
? I thought Safin would blast Serra off court fairly easily...but he struggled and admitted problems with his form. Ollie is one of the last players you want to face in this situation, and the pair have had very close and entertaining battles over the years...and Safin has lost to him on grass too. Rochus is in fine form and Safin knows he will have to play well to shake the flea off.
